Why get a Home Energy Rating?

Allows you to compare your home’s energy performance to other homes

Helps you plan energy upgrades for your home

Recognizes and verifies the value of the energy improvements you’ve already made

A good score confirms your home as energy efficient if you

decide to sell

Getting a Home Energy Rating is like checking your credit history. You get two important pieces of information – a report and a score.

The report describes how efficiently your home is using (or potentially wasting) energy and provides a range of recommendations for improvements. The score allows you to compare your home’s energy performance to other homes with ratings and to see how it measures up to energy standards.

The more efficient your home is, the lower the score.

The lower the rating, the better
