Get Healthy Get Walking
Walking is one of the least expensive and easiest way to get
and stay fit. A walking routine has been found to have several
health benefits for older adults such as control blood sugar,
lower blood pressure, weight control, and so much more.
Join the Center’s Riverwalkers on a stroll three (3) days a week. The group walks inside the
Renaissance Center during inclement weather.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the majority of older adults
(80%) have one chronic condition and 50% have at least two. Learn helpful tips and how to
better manage your condition all while adopting healthy behaviors. St. Pats offers Evidence-
Based Disease and Disability Prevention Programs taught by certified program instructors.
Call us today at (313) 831-2520 to register for the upcoming classes.
EnhanceFitness: An hour long exercise class for all fitness levels held three (3)

prevention strategies helping to reduce their fear of falling.
Eat Better, Move More: A twelve (12) week nutritious and fitness program.
Personal Action Toward Health (PATH): Learn techniques and strategies for day to
day management of your chronic or long term health conditions in this six (6) weeks
program.
Diabetes Personal Action Toward Health (Diabetes PATH): The six (6) weeks course
will teach those with diabetes and pre-diabetes skills to help manage their health
condition.
DANCE Your Way To Better Health

small study by St. Louis University showed dancing
helped reduce knee and hip pain in older adults. The
Center has a dance class to fit all dance preferences
and levels from ball-
room to hustle to belly
dancing and much
more.
