Almost twenty years ago, Darlene Schmidt and Dr. William Galbraith imagined an organization that would care for the people in our community with nowhere else to turn. They imagined a place that would provide a healthier future for all. You can learn more about the early years of Community Health Free Clinic on our website at www.communityhfc.org/imagine.

Thanks to the donors, volunteers, partners, and staff listed on the following pages, Community Health Free Clinic was able to provide free medical, dental, vision, and prescription services to over 5,100 uninsured and underinsured individuals in the Cedar Rapids community. We provided those 5,100 people with more than 18,400 services in our 2018 fiscal year. We increased our outreach by almost every metric, serving 13% more patients and providing 24% more services than the previous year.

Community Health Free Clinic is continuing to see more patients who can’t afford the costs associated with their healthcare and who have nowhere else to turn. We’ve filled 37% more prescriptions this year than in fiscal year 2017. In many cases, these are lifesaving medications that patients couldn’t afford without your donations.

We will continue to imagine a world where everyone can afford the healthcare they need. Until that day, Community Health Free Clinic is dedicated to continuing our mission to alleviate human pain and suffering by providing access to and delivery of compassionate healthcare to ensure a healthier future for all.
