Spring 2013

President’s messageAs I write this message I am eagerly waiting for spring!

This has been a very stressful winter for all Community Centres and the Community at large. City Hall in con-junction with the Park Board has de-cided to change how the agreement between them and all the Commu-nity Associations in the city should be structured.

We are at the point where a facilitator is being called in to help us. We now need all the support and help from the Community, in order to obtain a fair agreement. We need to put all the money that the Association has raised from this Community into this Community.

In other news, our Needs Assess-ment has been carried out and we are now ready to have the Community at large help us press ahead to reach our goals.

I cannot stress enough how much the Volunteers and our wonderful Staff have helped us. Their time and effort help to make our Association a happy and wonderful place.

I am especially lucky to have a very good Board to help me out and all the time and effort add to make Douglas Park a great community centre.

We would like new ideas for programs at our centre. Please feel free to come and share your ideas with the staff at the centre, or feel free to call me at 604-874-2605.

Respectfully submitted,

Joyce SabenPresident, DPCA
