DESCRIPTION

A Green Solution for Intelligent Metropolitan Heating System with uSDCards ABSTRACT We present the architecture, design, and simulation of an intelligent system for Temperature Monitoring used in metropolitan heating. The system consists of several TelosB-compatible motes, a Nokia uSDCard, and a smart phone. We use TelosB Motes to collect temperature data, and to transport the data to the smart phone. The uSDCard, as the middle layer, connects the smart phone with the Bluetooth compatible devices. The smart phone, as the terminal, processes data and manages the TelosB Motes. We use the smart phone as the final terminal because it has a rich set of user interfaces and has access to various kinds of networks, allowing our system to be extended more easily and more user-friendly. In real scenes, our system can reduce the temperature reading fluctuation, and ultimately save the energy consumption for heating companies, providing a better living environment for indoor users.

A Green Solution for Intelligent Metropolitan Heating System

with uSDCards

ABSTRACT

We present the architecture, design, and simulation of an intelligent system for

Temperature Monitoring used in metropolitan heating. The system consists of several

TelosB-compatible motes, a Nokia uSDCard, and a smart phone. We use TelosB Motes

to collect temperature data, and to transport the data to the smart phone. The uSDCard,

as the middle layer, connects the smart phone with the Bluetooth compatible devices.

The smart phone, as the terminal, processes data and manages the TelosB Motes. We

use the smart phone as the final terminal because it has a rich set of user interfaces and

has access to various kinds of networks, allowing our system to be extended more

easily and more user-friendly. In real scenes, our system can reduce the temperature

reading fluctuation, and ultimately save the energy consumption for heating

companies, providing a better living environment for indoor users.

EXISTING SYSTEM

The existing system is high cost and some delay. In order to overcome the

intelligent system design. In our proposed system is low cost and less delay. The

existing system is only monitor the environmental temperature but our system is

control the environmental temperature. The proposed system is less error and low

power consumption.

PROPOSED SYSTEM

we propose a three-tier system architecture, which can achieve finer granularity and

much lower cost, low power consumption wide range of adaptability, and mobility. We

use wireless sensors as collectors to avoid wires and to implement a more efficient

centralized temperature monitoring. Further, we utilize the uSDCard to deal with the

problem of platform independence. Our system can reduce the temperature collection

fluctuations in traditional systems, and then save about 20%-40% energy consumption

of temperature adaption for heating companies according our evaluation.

DESCRIPTION

We propose a system with finer granularity and much lower cost. Considering

the function on temperature collection and temperature control, our system has the

following requirements:

1) Data archiving: The system should archive real-time temperature data accurately.

Because of the temperature differences, more than one sensor is expected to be

deployed in the house to get enough reasonable and valuable data.

2) Distributed control: Considering temperature may differ in separate rooms of the

same house, for instance, it is generally warmer in the bedroom than the kitchen when

people get sleep; we should provide users with distributed control of the indoor

temperature to meet all kinds of requirements.

3) Remote data transmission: The sensor networks must be connected to the Internet of

Things (IoT). Then the heating company can receive the requirement from residents and

adjust the temperature in accordance with it.

4) Low cost: As civil equipment, the cost on the whole system is supposed to be as low

as possible, which makes easier to promote.

What is IEEE?

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers or IEEE (read eye-triple-e) is Incorporated in the State of New York, United States. It was formed in 1963 by the merger of the Institute of Radio Engineers (IRE, founded 1912) and the American Institute of Electrical Engineers (AIEE, founded 1884). A membership organization comprised of engineers, scientists and students that sets standards for computers and communications. It is a nonprofit organization with more than 365,000 members in around 150 countries.

The IEEE describes itself as "the world's largest technical professional society -- promoting the development and application of electro technology and allied sciences for the benefit of humanity, the advancement of the profession, and the well-being of our members."
