A German Weaver’s Pattern Book
This document contains patterns from Christian Morath’s pattern book (1784 - 1810), publishedin 1961 by Nellie L. Galvin.
As is typical of old weaver’s books, the patterns are hand-drawn and crude. Here is an example:
Kris Bruland has digitized these patterns and put WIFs for them on http://www.handweaving.net,where they can be downloaded without charge.
The patterns here have been derived from the WIFs and provided for browsing and easy identifi-cation of patterns of interest.
The patterns are organized by size, width first. Identifying numbers for the WIFs are given belowthe patterns. For example, 18293 refers to 18293.wif on http://www.handweaving.net.
Material in this document may be used freely for individual projects, but republication is prohib-ited.
