AFTER
BEFORETHE new year brings anew life for RebeccaMudd, who has lost100kg over the past 12months.
The 24-year-old fromBelmont is enjoying anew lease on life aftershedding more than halfher body weight.
I n J a n u a r y , M i s sMudd weighed in at182.3kg.
Now, the 178cm socialworker tips the scales ata toned 82.1kg.
‘ ‘ I ’m happier, I ’mmore energetic, it’s acompletely di�erentfeeling,’’ Miss Muddsaid.
‘‘Before, I was alwaystired and sluggish anddidn’t have a lot of mo-tivation.’’
After struggling withher weight all her life,Miss Mudd took the bullby the horns and signedup for sessions with per-s o n a l t r a i n e r M a t tCritchley a Fitness Expertwho overhauledher eating and exercisepatterns.
‘ ‘ W i t h R e b e c c a ’ sblood pressure andmeasurements, she wasa walking timebomb,’’Mr Critchley said.
‘‘I couldn’t be prouderof her. We’ve come along way together, butshe’s done all the hardwork.
‘‘Rebecca’s a real in-s p i r a t i o n . S h e ’ sa c h i e v e d f a n t a s t i cresults and I’ve nodoubt she will keep theweight o�.’’
Miss Mudd swapped
junk food for healthyeating habits, and nowe x e r c i s e s w i t h M rCritchley three times aweek at 5.30am beforetravelling to her job inMelbourne.
She said close friendsand even family mem-bers have failed torecognise her since thed r a m a t i c t r a n s f o r -mation.
‘‘I had had enoughand was just ready tomake a change,’’ MissMudd said.
‘‘I wanted to lose100kg, but thought itwould take betweenthree and �ve years.
‘‘But I started seeingthe results really quicklyand that motivated memore.
‘‘Now I’m more con�-dent, I enjoy meetingpeople and I love shop-ping.’’
Miss Mudd said shehad never looked backsince making the com-mitment to lose weight.
‘‘If you are ready, thentake it and run with it,because it’s not as di�-cult as you think,’’ shesaid.
‘‘There’s no secret, it’sjust a question of stick-ing to it.’’
