In this artwork, it shows an audist is about to add new recently acquired butterfly to his collection. Lepidoptera, Pulchra Silentium is a scienfitic label that the auditory/CI industry put on deaf victim through their greedy pathological view. It is latin for butterfly, beautiful silence. They are killing off our future to silence us.

I thought I could play w/ a toolbox like its a doctor's black bag by including vintage fonts. I wanted to show audiologists and doctors desires to fix hearing loss dismissing deaf culture and ASL.

I used a photo reference for the toolbox. I will redraw this as well.

600 Deaf kids in mainstream schools cross Vermont state. IF Austine School closes, it is losing a second home, no deaf culture, no deaf role model, no social life, isolation, outsiders in mainstreams, and deaf teachers lost jobs. There is some deaf schools closed across the nation. The hearing society wants Deaf Children with technology- Cohlear implants kids- babies will be restricted in training but we know oralism fails.

This is inspired by Robert P. McGregor's "The Social Side of Oralism" at World Congress in January, 1910. He explained Oralism is founded on the rock. So, I used a nail motif, to represent as an attention. A Deaf student is so frustrated in a mainstreaming program, the note is nailed against a blackboard and it cracked the board.by Robert P.
