Aller is a very important verb. It doesn’t follow the rules of regular verbs which end in –er so you have to learn it by heart.

Revision of verbs

You already know that French verbs work differently from English ones. We looked at these earlier this year and all regular -er verbs follow the pattern shown in the box for jouer:
