Ok, today we are going to discuss a short story entitled “Rainbow By The Sea” and let us learn on how the main characters spent the remaining days despite of the fact that one of them will be away. But before that let us unlock these words, so I need ten volunteers to find the meaning of these words.

Ok, now that you have identified the meaning of these words. Kindly read them. I know that you already read the story entitled “Rainbow By the Sea”. So the same group while back you are going to identify the events in the story. So the number of the paragraphs were written on the manila paper which I am going to give you. So you will just write the events on the paragraphs which are cited. I am going to give you ten minutes to do that.( Number of paragraphs identified: 1,2,3,4,6,7,8,11,13,15,17)

Ok, let’s go through the paragraphs. On the first paragraph, what do you think is the feeling of the main character? So on the second paragraph, what do the main characters doing?

What did the young man do, to the young woman? So when the young woman grasped and cried out loud, what did her sister do?

On paragraph three, they were told to go to the sea to get suckling pig. What was their feeling when they were told to go to the sea to get suckling pig? Yes, they were happy for they could spend their time together. What happened in the fourth paragraph? Yes, the young man described his love. Ok, in the sixth paragraph what did the young man realize?

Yes, the young man realized that would miss the place and his love. It was also stated here that they went to the farm together during the previous weeks, the young man expressed his love and the young woman sang a song for him. On the next paragraph, what do you think are the characteristics of the people in the story, especially when they threw their meaningful glances and smiles to the lovers?

In paragraph 8, they walk through the fields until they reached the sea. What happened in paragraph 13? While waiting for the suckling pig, which the tenants are getting the lovers walk to the sea together. In paragraph 15, what did the young man remember?

Yes, he remembered that he will be away with his love the next day, and he feels sadness. When his love saw his sadness, what did she do? Ok, she convinced the young man to play with the waves, she wanted that the young man will also laugh.

The young man described his love.

He realized what it would mean to be away with his love.

They are friendly.

They were walking together on the sea.

He remembered that he will be away with his love.

She ask the young man to play with the waves.

There is heart ache inside them.

No, I will be sad.

Maybe because she wants that her love will not feel so sad.

So, they keep on laughing as cited in paragraph 16. And on the last paragraph, what is the reason why the house of the young woman still awake?

So, if you are the woman in the story, would you still laugh even you know that your love will leave you?

What do you think is the reason why the young woman in the story laughed even her love will leave him?

Isn’t it that if one of our loved ones will leave, we will feel sad, but the young woman in the story laughed so the story wants us to spend our days with the people whom we love with happiness.

D. Enrichment Activity I am going to group you into two. You are going to show a short role play showing the reasons why lovers separate and on how to move on despite of the separation. I am going to give you five minute to practice with your group.
