108 AUSTRALASIAN DENTIST “Many visitors to the show and education sessions stopped to look at the new chair and discovered it was every bit as comfortable as it looks, and includes many of the features which they have come to expect from A-dec, such as outstanding flexibility and quality,” Mr Gardiner said. A number of Queensland A-dec dealers were at the show and reported they were already receiving orders for the A-dec 400, which has filled a gap between the top of the line A-dec 500 chair and the mid-market A-dec 300 range. The new chair has already made an impression internationally, with its stylish design, comfort, flexibility and low minimum working height, resulting in the A-dec 400 being named the 2013 Best New Product for Women by the American Association of Women Dentists. A-dec 400 chair debuts at ADIA Queensland show T he brand new A-dec 400 dental chair launched by A-dec made its public debut at the 2013 ADIA Queensland Dental Show held at the Brisbane Convention Centre on October 11 & 12. The attractive new chair was the centerpiece of the A-dec stand, one of 30 exhibitors taking part in the show held in conjunction with the Australian Dental & Oral Health Therapists (ADOHTA – Queensland branch) conference. According to A-dec Queensland Territory Manager, Brian Gardiner, the new chair in its eye- catching plum fully sewn upholstery attracted plenty of interest among dentists, oral health therapists, practice managers and other visitors to the ADOHT and ADIA CPD sessions over the two days. The new A-dec 400 combines many of the attributes of A-dec’s popular A-dec 500 range including an ultra-thin and flexible ergonomic backrest design, providing outstanding patient comfort and unrivalled access for the dental team. The A-dec 400 is available with A-dec’s flexible ‘Radius’ style delivery system, which means the chair can be quickly converted from left to right-handed operation. Wall mount and ’12 o’clock’ delivery systems are also available, together with optional cuspidor and choice of halogen or LED lights. One of the biggest differences in the new chair is its new two position load-bearing armrest design which gives greater patient support when entering or exciting the chair and folds neatly out of the way to provide maximum patient access. The A-dec 400 also features a choice of new headrest designs, which makes it fully adjustable for small and tall patients, allowing maximum patient comfort and access to the oral cavity.
