posttest (see table 2). This may mean that taught by the STAD technique and those taught

    by traditional methods E(1,45)=.029, II=.865)[see table 3].

Even though the quantitative instruments described no significant difference, whilethe qualitative instruments showed and was proven that both teachers and students thatsurveyed stated same positive results. 94% of the students of treatment group during the

study commented that, team work made studying easier; and discussing work with peersmake it easier to remember important points; 76 % reported that working in groups helpe dthem learn course content ; 71% reported that the team competition component of thetechnique made class more interesting. While 88% responded positively that the STADtechnique made class more fun and made it easier to understand the work and would preferto use the same technique-STAD- to cover the next unit of their course.

It can be concluded that, even though the STAD w as applied in order to make moreachieving students on the course taught, but it was proven that it had no significancedifference of students achievement, whether both the treatment group or comparison group.Since it was stated like that, and also some p rior researches resulted the similar, Thismethod is not the best one to carry out for achieving the higher scores of the students. In thismethod also compromised the heterogeneous achieving students , would make some

unbalanced activity among them. The hi gher students could be very enthusiastic to do thetask, but the lower ones would under estimate their own competency since they know that

they belong to the lower students.

Nevertheless, for the attitude toward this method applied in learning, it is very clearstated that the students enjoy the atmosphere when they work in a team using STADmethod. While the teachers commented that this method will be helpful for them to deliverthe course content. If the students are happy and enjoy with this method, tha n it will be

easier for the teacher to motivate the students in their learning process.

As conclusion, this technique or method of STAD is good to create the enjoyable

environment for the students, but lack of achieving the achievement.
