Overview

Transporting millions of passengers andmillion tones of freight daily, Indian Railways isone of the biggest employer in India.

Managing such huge human resource is by nomeans an easy thing to do.

Still there should be some Human Resource

Policy which should be followed to bring outthe best from the staff which in turn benefitsthe society.

Problems witnessed at Kalupur

Railway station.

No person at the Entrance gate to checkplatform tickets.

The metal detectors are not in workingcondition, nobody is there to get it fixed.

Nobody to provide information on train

arrivals /departure. Only one window with huge waiting line.

Lack of cleanliness.

Only 1 or 2 Railway Police Officers to control

the whole station.

No control over the stray animals.

No one to manage the CCTV room.

Inadequate staff in Cloak Room.

Lack of proper restrooms for public.

Lack of proper parking facilities. Over crowd.

Control

To get rid of all above problems we have to

actively participate in designing it.

While doing so a cross functional team across

various sections brings about greater

effectiveness and cohesion than an intra

departmental team.

Measures

At all the entrances and the exits we are goingto increase the number of staff, security

persons and police officers.

Technical team will maintain all

the metal detectors.

The number of information

desk will be increased andtrained personnel will be

appointed to provide

information.

Increase the number of

sweepers and providerecyclebins.

And also various supervision teams will be

there which will take care of cleanliness and

also penalize the culprits caught on cam.

CCTVs will be in proper working condition and

qualified personnels shall keep a check on

them.

Dog control squad will put a check on the

stray dogs creating nuisance for travellers. Increase the number of spacious rest rooms in

proper condition.

Only the Travelers will be allowed on the

platform. Special forces of 5-10 people on each platform

will be allocated just to ensure smoother

activities.

Different uniforms for different grades of

forces, which will ensure easy identity of each

personnel, in case of any help needed from

them.

For Senior Citizens

Escalators will be put up on those platforms

where the frequency of arriving trains is very

high.

Special golf cars for senior citizens, for their

ease.

Special force to take care of

these aged people.

DTRS-Direct Transportation to Railway

Station

Buses which provide direct transport to therailway station will be allocated at the peak time-8:00 AM to 11:00 PM from major areas.

This will reduce traffic chaos in the city and atrailway station too.

Bus tickets will be at nominal

rates.

This will solve the problem of

conjusted parking at the station.

Customer is the KING of the Market and

therefore, we will ensure that they are satisfied in

every sense.

These were the things which we think are missing

at Kalupur railway station and therefore ensure

the above measures to be implemented

effectively.
