Purpose The aim of this book is to introduce healthcare providers in the community to the importance of detecting potentially hidden pulmonary hyperten- sion and subsequently referring affected patients for treatment. Audience This book targets physicians in training, primary care providers, and subspecialists in pulmonary and cardiovascular diseases. Features The first of the six chapters is an introduction that gives an overview of PAH and outlines the aims of the book, while chapter two discusses the back- ground and epidemiology. Chapters three and four deal with pathophysiology and clinical diagnosis, respectively. Chapter five discusses outcomes and treatment strategies for PAH, and chapter six examines screening and management. The graphs and tables are easy to comprehend and comple- mented by succinct captions. The information boxes in each chapter are a strength of this book.
