Academic Support Centers
MILWAUKEE CAMPUS
Communication Center offers assistance in business and business-related courses, computer application courses, computer use, keyboarding, medical transcription and multimedia presentations. Room C278.
Computer Production Center provides help in computer use, computer programming, computer application courses, keyboarding, multimedia presentations and website creation. Room M273.
Math Center helps students in all levels of math, accounting, engineering-related courses, occupational math and statistics. Room C271.
Science Center provides assistance in anatomy and physiology, astronomy, biology, biochemistry, chemistry, medical terminology, microbiology, nutrition, physics, psychology, sociology, engineering sciences, social sciences and technical sciences. Room C271.
Writing Center works in conjunction with the Online Writing Lab (OWL) to assist students in course-related written assignments including essays, research papers, professional writing and other writing projects in all disciplines. Room C270.
Tutoring Services include one-on-one tutoring and study groups.

•Each student receives a $10 print allotment on his/her Stormer Pass every semester for printing.
•If a student exhausts the $10 allotment, he/she is responsible for adding money to his/her Campus Cash account.
•Money in this account may be used for multiple purposes, such as Student Parking, printing, or in the Stormer Cafés and vending machines.

You are not expected to be a counselor but observe and listen to students and then refer to counseling. Students may appreciate your walking with them to the Counseling office.

FERPAFamily Educational Rights and Privacy Act
• FERPA is a federally-mandated privacy act of 1974 that sets forth requirements regarding the privacy of student records. For questions on what can or cannot be released regarding student records, you may contact the Office of the Registrar at 414.297.6824.

• FERPA allows for the sharing of information with those that have an educational interest in performing their job responsibilities. This allows faculty to share how students in their classroom are doing with their counselors and others within the college that are working directly with the student.

Registration• Priority Registration – timeframe set aside each
semester for continuing, currently-enrolled program students to register before other students.
• Open Registration – timeframe all students can register.
• Late Registration – timeframe students that did not take advantage of priority and open registration, register.

Submitting GradesGrades are due through out the semester based on the
end date of the class and submitted online through INFOnline. The online schedule is distributed each semester via email. Instructions for submitting grades are attached to the online schedule.
It is extremely important that grades be submitted on time. Late grades affect program student’s academic standing or students from receiving timely tuition reimbursement.

Instructor Recommended Withdrawals
• The instructor should withdraw students who have never attended/participated by the 16th calendar day of the semester. In instances where non-attendance/participation cannot reasonably be determined by the 16th calendar day of the semester, instructors should withdraw the student by the 16th calendar day of the course. (Administrative Procedure DD0710). For all other instructor withdrawals the published drop date should be followed.

Students may be given an incomplete (“I”) if they have satisfactorily completed seventy five percent (75%) of the course work and if they have made arrangements to complete the course requirements prior to the end of the following semester.
