1.0 INTRODUCTION.

Assalamualaikum w.b.t. and a very good morning and afternoon i bid to our

honourable lecturer,Puan Wahidah and to all peoples that will surely read this

assignment.This assignment are based on the Basics Mathematics that my friend

and i learn in our course here in Institut Pendidikan Guru Kampus Ipoh.We’re here in

the course of PPISMP Bahasa Melayu (SJKC) K2 to do this assignment for this first

semester.

Looking forward to this Course Work Assessment-Project,all we must do is to

prepare a budget plan for a birthday party for 25 childrens involving revisting

numbers,ratios,and proportions.Based on what we’ve learn in the mathematics’

classes,we have done all the work to do activities to succeed this Work

Assessment.In this Course Work,we also picked up the notes and take into accounts

the main dishes,snacks,drinks,party favours invitation cards and all the decorations

to fulfil the needs in this assignment.All of these notes have been recorded in our

folio sequently and perfectly arranged by me,Mohammad Aminuddin Bin Abu and my

partner Abang Mohd Fathur Rahman Bin Abang Madehi in the group of two.

Moving forward in this course work,we also have done all the topics given

which is,We need to furnish the recipe for the one main dish,calculate the

appropriate proportions required,display the expenditure or breakdown of the cost of

the items and the ingredients,and last but not least to indicate smart budgeting.

Next,we go to the learning outcomes of this Work Assessment,first of all the

outcome is to prepare a budget plan for a birthday party for 25 childrens involving

revisiting numbers,ratios and proportions.Secondly,is to show all the relevant

procedures involved in the budget plan in a flow chart.Lastly,the learning outcome is

to inculcate a learning culture through reading,academic discussion and sharing

information intelligently.

In the nut shell,this topic which is A Budget Plan For A Birthday Party is

prepared smoothly with perfectcity and we hope that this Work Assessment can be

accepted by our lecturer and also can give benefits to all of the members here in

IPGM Kampus Ipoh in learning Basic Mathematics’ in our classes.

2.0 FLOWCHART OF THE BUDGET PLAN FOR A BIRTHDAY PARTY.

Gather all the basic informations about the birthday party such as whom to be

celebrated and where would be the Birhday Party take places and also date and time

when the party will be held.

Comfirmation of the place where the party will take places and how many guest will

come to the party.

Consider the audience and pick a theme for the birthday

Plan decorations to be used at the birthday party.

Make a guest list for all the people that will come to the birthday party.

Design an invitation card and also the answer which may or may not come of the

birthday party to be send to all the guest that will be coming to the party.

Plan the main dishes for the birthday party.

Plan other menu and dishes that will be served at the birthday party.

Prepared the activities that will be conduct along the birthday party.

Plan the 1st budget plan for the overall cost of the birthday party.

Plan the 2nd revise budget plan for the overall cost of the birthday party.

3.0 DESCRIPTION.

The set up of place that this birthday party will be held is at the Dewan Besar Batang

Kali,Selangor Darul Ehsan.

The birthday party will be held on 10th OCTOBER 2010.

The party will be starting at 9 P.M.

The theme for this birthday party is independence and not stricted.All the guests that

may come can wear any dresses that they wanted to wear as it is not too much of

fashion.

The total number of guests have been confirmed which is 25 guests.

The guests list have been also made up for further information.

4.0 ACTIVITIES.

We also have plan many activities to be held on the birthday party to make it more

interesting.All of these activities are costless as we didn’t use our money and budget

for the activities.

The activities that have been planned are as follows :

1) Round and Sit.

Guests are invited to join this activity.It is very simple.

The rules are,music will be playing and players will walk around the chairs

which in circle.When the music stop playing,all players must find their own

way to sit in chairs that we have been arranged.

The last player who get sit on the last chair will be the winner.

2) Donkey’s Tail.

This game will only be played by the Birthday Boy.

He must put the tail of the donkey accurately on its back without see it(his

eyes were blinded by scarf)

If he didn’t manage to solve it.Then,all the guests can give him punishment

that all agreed that day.

5.0 MAIN RECIPE FOR THE BIRTHDAY PARTY.

HOME STYLE MACARONI AND CHEESE

To be served to 25 people.Below are the ingredients for 5 people serving.All the

ingredients only enough for 5 people.So this main dishes must be cook into 5

set.1set is for 5 people in the ratio of 1 : 5.

INGREDIENTS :

7 ounces macaroni

1/4 cup butter

3 tablespoons all-purpose flour

2 cups milk

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

2 teaspoons Dijon mustard

2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese

1 cup dry bread crumbs

2 tablespoons butter

2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

DIRECTIONS :

1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).

2. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add macaroni pasta and cook

for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain.

3. In a 3 quart saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and stir in flour. Cook for

about 1 minute, until smooth and bubbly; stirring occasionally. Mix in milk,

cream cheese, salt, pepper, and Dijon mustard. Continue cooking until sauce

is thickened. Add cooked macaroni and Cheddar cheese.

4. Pour into 2 quart casserole dish. In small bowl mix together bread crumbs,

butter and parsley; spread over macaroni and cheese. Bake for 15 to 20

minutes or until golden brown and heated through.

6.0 ADDITIONAL RECIPE FOR THE BIRTHDAY PARTY.

1).AIR BANDUNG SPECIAL

To be served to 25 people.Make 10 jugs of bandung water.

2 jugs for 5 people.The ratio of jugs to people is 2 : 5.

INGREDIENTS :

2 grams of sugar.

40 litres of plain water

2 litres of syrup codial

5 cans of dairy milk.

DIRECTIONS :

1) Fill 10jugs with 4litres each.(40litre of water divide by 10jugs).

2) Add 20grams of sugar in each 10jugs.

The ratio of jug with sugar is 10 : 20 or 1 : 2.

3) Add 0.5litre of syrup codial to each 10jugs in the ratio of 0.5 : 10 or 1 : 20.

4) Add half cans of dairy milk into each 10jugs in the ratio of 0.5 : 10 or 1 : 20.

2).WATERMELON,APPLE, AND BANANA FRUITS(dessert)

To be served to 25 people.

INGREDIENTS :

5 fresh watermelons.

25 fresh apples.

25 fresh bananas.

DIRECTIONS :

1)1fresh watermelons is for 5 persons to share in the ratio of 1 : 5.

2)1 person will get 1 fresh apple. the ratio is 1 : 1.

3)1 person will also get 1 fresh banana in the ratio of 1 : 1.

3).CHOCOLATES CAKE.

To be served to 25 people.

Each person must get 2 slices of the chocolates cake.

Make 4 pieces of chocolates cake.1 piece will be cut into 8 slices.

The ratio of the cakes to the people is 2 : 1.Which is two cakes to one person.

INGREDIENTS :

1 + 1/2 cup (170 g) all-purpose flour

3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder (dutched/dark)

2 teaspoons baking powder

2 pinches salt

1 cup (220 g) sugar

2 teaspoons vanilla essence

1/2 cup (1.2 dl) milk or water

1/2 cup (1.2 dl) vegetable oil (flavorless)

2 eggs

DIRECTIONS :

1)Preheat oven to 350 deg F (Gas mark 4 or 180 deg C)

2)Grease a 9 inch (23 cm) cake tin.

3)Mix flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, salt, sugar and vanilla essence in a bowl.

4)Add milk/water, vegetable oil and eggs.

5)Mix everything together until smooth, either by hand or by using an electric mixerat slow speed. If the batter is too runny you may add slightly more flour.

6)Transfer to bake tin and bake at 350 degrees until a wooden pick inserted in centercomes out clean, approximately 35 to 45 minutes.

7)After the cake has cooled, slice the cake through the middle to make two layers(easier if the cake has been in the fridge).

4).FRIED CHICKEN

To be served to 25 person.This recipe is for 5 people served. Every person must get

2 fried chickens each.So,this fried chicken recipe must be in the set of 10.The ratio

of fried chicken to people is 2 : 25.

INGREDIENTS :

30 saltine crackers

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

2 tablespoons dry potato flakes

1 teaspoon seasoned salt

1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

1 egg

1/4 cup vegetable oil

5 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves

DIRECTIONS :

1. Place crackers in a large resealable plastic bag; seal bag and crush crackers until

they are coarse crumbs. Add flour, potato flakes, seasoned salt, and pepper to

bag and mix well.

2. Beat egg in a shallow dish or bowl; heat oil in a large skillet over medium high

heat.

3. One by one, dredge chicken pieces in egg beat, then place in bag with crumb

mixture, seal bag and shake to coat.

4. Reduce heat to medium and cook coated chicken in skillet for 15 to 20 minutes,

turning frequently, until golden brown and juices run clear.

5).SNACKS AND SWEETS.

After we discuss about what to give to the children in the birthday party,we finally

managed to pick up some snacks and also sweets for them.In the discussion,we

agreed to give the children Cadburry Choclairs sweets and Twisties snacks.

DIRECTIONS :

There will be 25 childrens who will surely come into the birthday party.

So,for the Twisties snacks,we will give them 2 each.As the conclusion,the total

number of Twisties snacks we must buy are 50packs.The ratio of Twisties to each

children are 2 : 25.

For the Cadburry Choclairs,we will give them 5sweets each.As the conclusion,the

total number of Cadburry Choclairs we must buy are 125sweets.The ratio of sweets

to each children are 5 : 25 or 1 : 5.

By this kind of calculation,we can save our budget and can spent a lot of money from

being wasted to unuseful items.The percentage of this calculation is 80% succeed.

7.0 DECORATIONS AND BIRTHDAY PARTY INVITATION CARD.

DECORATIONS.

For the decorations,we have plan to do a wall decoratition on the wall of the hall we

manage to do the birthday party.The wall decorations are removable which we can

remove it at the end of the party.We have choosen the theme of Super Mario

Cartoons as the wall decorations of this Birthday Party

We also plan the number of removable wall decorations to be stick at the wall which

is we need 4 sets of the decorations.

1 set is at infront.backside.left,and right of the wall of the hall.

INVITATION CARDS.

For the invitation cards,we have manage to do it ourselves which is the theme was

chosen by us.We draw the cards ourselves to save budget for the birthday party.

The invitation card is then printed into 25 copies to be send to all the guests.

8.0 BUDGET PLAN.

8.1 1st PLAN BUDGET.

In our quest to manage the birthday party,we have gone through random stores and

markets to survey for the price of all the items we need.All the prices are randomly

note in this first budget plan.As long as we got the correct items,we just recorded it in

this budget plan.We also note the quantities of all the items needed and calculated

the total price.Below are the plan budget that we have note down randomly :

8.2 2nd REVISE PLAN BUDGET.

After finished survey randomly for the all the prices in the first budget plan,we then

make move to the second plan which is the second budget plan.In this budget

plan,we have confirmed all the price by searching for the cheapest price we can getfrom all the markets and stores.All of these prices are the final result of our budget in

order to succeed the birthday party we manage to do.We also manage to do smart

budgeting in this scond revise plan budget that never the less help alots in reducing

the uses of our money.The total prices and quantities of all the items have also been

recorded in this 2nd revise plan budget.Below are the plan budget that we have note

9.0 REFLECTION.

Assalamualaikum w.b.t. i bid to our beloved lecturer,Pn Wahida and to all who

read this Basic Mathematics’ Work Assessment.First of all,i pray to Allah S.W.T. for

His Kindness that we finally be able to finished this Work Assessment in time.We

also want to thanked our beloved lecturer,Puan Wahida for all her guidance towards

us,K2 unit about this assessment and teach us a lot of new things in our way to finish

up our assignment.Last but not least,special thanks to all my beloved classmates of

K2 unit for giving us a lot of idea in doing this Basic Mathematics Work Assessment.

In our way to finish this assignment,we face a lot of troubles and also many

obstacles that we have confront in order to make this assignment finished

perfectly.The main problem to do this assignment is to find all the informations about

how to prepare a budget plan for the birthday party.We have gone searching all the

informations needed in many sumber that we think we can get.The first thing that we

do to seek for the informations was surely to go meet our lecturer,Pn Wahida to get

to know what we need to do to plan on this birthday party.As a result,we got to know

many new things and important informations in doing this assignment.

In order to find the most suitable main dish for the birthday party,we gone

through the recipe’s book to look for it.We found many delicious recipe but the

budget seems to be in high rates.All the foods in the magazine can be our main dish

for the birthday party but the cost are not affordable for us because our budget are

not in the high places.So,we go through the internet to find for the best recipe for the

birthday party and we finally met the most reasonable main dishes to be served in

the birthday party which is the Home Style Macarony and Cheese.

For the additional recipe,we also looking for it in the recipe books and luckily

we found most of the recipes there such as Chocolates Cakes,fried chicken and

many more.Unfortunately,not all the recipe we needed was mention in the magazine

or recipe books,So for the solution,we go asking our friends what to buy for the

snacks and sweets for the birthday party that we managed to do.We also spent most

of our time together infront of the laptop to seek for the recipe in the internet.

We go googled for the perfect recipe day and night in our way to finish up this

successful Work Assessment.Next,we go to the library to search for the way in

making a budget plan for the birthday party to be used in our assignment.Luckily,we

found many books that a related to the topic that have been given to us and we

borrow it in about two weeks.Problems occur unexpectedly,we seems to be very

blank about the budget plan and how to do it.Even with the books,we cannot solve

the problems.

In order to overcome the problems that we faced,we make our own way to

resolve it by going to the internet to search for the conclusion.We go search all day

night and finally found the answer that we were looking for which we manage to

know the format in making a budget plan for the birthday party.Actually,it was not

very hard to budget a plan.After we study about it,we even become more keen into it

and feel like to do this assignment two times.

In the budget plans we done,we manage to have 2 budget plans.There are,1st

Plan Budget and the other one is 2nd Revise Plan Budget.For the first plan budget,we

go survey all the price of all the items needed randomly without care about the price

as long as we find the items.We succeed in finding all the items we need in order to

be used in the birthday party.But,its different in the second revise plan budget.In this

budget plan,we care about most of the prices which is our plan are to find the

cheapest price of all the items to be used in the birthday party.We go survey all the

stores and markets in our way to search for the lowest price we can have.There are

a lot of different in our budget when we shopping using the method of smart

budgeting.Luckily,we don’t have to waste our money and budget to buy for the same

items that not too much differ in their qualities.

In the nutshell,thanks to all who give us strength in doing this Basic

Mathematics assignment.Lastly,we hope that this succesfull assignment can help

everyone and give usefull informations to whom needed.And,we also hope that our

lecturer,Puan Wahida can accept this work assessment as a succeed assignment.
