But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that

brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone

astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.

– Isaiah 53:5-6

(Jesus said) “We are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief

priests and the teachers of the law. They will condemn him to death and will hand him over to the

Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified. On the third day he will be raised to life!”

- Matthew 20:18-19

This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.

- Matthew 26:28

The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away

the sin of the world!”- John 1:29

Then delivered he him therefore unto them to be crucified. And they took Jesus, and led him away. And

he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew

Golgotha: Where they crucified him, and two other with him, on either side one, and Jesus in the

midst. – John 19:16-18

Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the

forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.- Acts 2:38

Don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We

were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from

the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.- Romans 6:3,4

We preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, but to those whom

God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.

– 1 Corinthians 1:23-24

God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of

God.- 2 Corinthians 5:21

And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even

death on a cross! – Philippians 2:8

Therefore, when Christ came into the world, he said: “Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a

body you prepared for me; with burnt offerings and sin offerings you were not pleased. Then I said,

‘Here I am—it is written about me in the scroll—I have come to do your will, my God.’”

- Hebrews 10:5-7

He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for

righteousness: "by his wounds you have been healed." – 1 Peter 2:24

He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.

- 1 John 2:2

Have you thought about being baptized into His death?
