Calvin has over 30 years of experience in the construction industry. His extensive experience includes Owner/Builder/Developer of his own company. His experience in his company extends to Project Manager, Estimator, Superintendent and Skilled Craftsman.Over the years Calvin has always believe in the hands on approach for his business from bidding a project to completing the construction of that project. This was to make sure that all aspects of his operation was carried out professionally and contracts was completed with integrity.

SCHOOL AND ACADEMICSCalvin graduated from Vigor High School in 1977. He had already determined then that he wanted to be in Construction. While in his Junior and Senior year at Vigor High School, Calvin attended T.L Faulkner Trade School. He was taught the skill of Brick Masonry and He graduated among the top five in the class.While attending T.L. Faulkner Trade School Calvin was chosen to represent the trade school in Vocational competition (VICA)Calvin instructor worked Calvin during the summer months in construction and he taught Calvin about the Concrete Trade as well as gave him on the job training with the brick mason trade.After Graduating from Trade School in 1977, Calvin continued to pursue Masonry and Concrete as his Career and he started his business of Calvin Gill Construction, Inc. in 1985 and still remains in business to date.Calvin has learned more skills as he worked his company and getting jobs with other opportunities. Calvin additional skills now includes Estimator, Project Manager, Superintendent, Drafting, Developer, Home Builder, Home Remodeling, Plaster, Carpenter and Trim Finisher of Commercial and Residential Construction.

School Construction

CGC constructed the new Masonry Construction at Mattie T Blount High School. This is one of the largest high school built in Alabama.

CGC first built the school structure out of Concrete blocks. During this phase CGC laid all of the Concrete blocks and installed all steel frame doors and window openings.

After CGC built the school out of Concrete Blocks, then CGC then laid all of the Bricks on the exterior of the Concrete Masonry Structure.

Calvin employed and Supervised 42 employees full time while constructing this school.
