Customer Use
Cases
Customer Example
Use Cases include: • Data Migration for Go-Live
– Alcan acquisition = volume of data for new sites
– Winshuttle gave them the flexibility to get the job done fast and efficiently – not reliant on IT (LSMW)
– Migrated 8 US plants onto SAP, took 3 people, 4 days to move all the data over using Winshuttle
– Data included all open sales and purchase orders, GL balances, raw materials, etc.
• Budgets – Winshuttle gives a very flexible tool to download, adjust and upload budgets.
– Can adjust and re-adjust very easily by cost element/company etc. etc.
– Recently went through a budgeting cycle and went through 40 iterations using Winshuttle – was working in
front of the CEO and was able to present the new budget loaded in SAP in a matter of minutes and he could
not believe that they could do it that fast, rather than the normal go away for 3 days and re-present.
• Transfer Pricing – For 3,500 semi finished goods for US and Europe
– Download transfer prices, amend and re-upload in 6 minutes – compared to 3 days previously
– Competitive advantage - since they are able to reflect up to date pricing quicker and easier.
• Finished Goods – Creating F/Goods took hours – had customer Lotus Notes front-end solution = cumbersome & costly
– New front-end Winshuttle template = simple to use and strong end-user buy-in
• Vendor Contracts – Uses Winshuttle to change prices, quantities, add materials, delete lines etc.
• Mass Change – Validation and data checking to cleanse data (e.g. Vendors checks such as terms, contracts etc)
– Extract terms from 5 different areas in SAP to highlight/ensure consistency
– Front-end and SAP level validations enforced prior to posting changes
