on 表示“在……上面”，表示两个物体的接触，既垂直又接触。
例如：

墙上有一副画。
2. Please put the pencil on the desk.
请把铅笔放在课桌上。
in 表示“在……里面” .
门窗、钉子、洞、孔等“在墙上”，就用 in the wall ，表示是在墙的里面；表示人、鸟、风筝等“在树上”就用 in the tree.
例如：
1. The window is in the wall.
2. The birds are in the tree.
鸟在树上。
under 表示“在……下面” , 通常指一物 体在 另一物体的正下方 ( 垂直下方 ), 往往不接触。
例如：
1. The ball is under the box.
2. The little girl is under the desk.
