Considering the climate, vegetables could be taken raw or cooked because in the tropics uncooked food could cause problems. Meat and fish should be taken in temperance because nothing in excess is good. Here again the climate is an important factor as non- vegetarian food in the tropics could lead to too much stress on the digestive system. Age old knowledge about what should or should not be eaten is interwoven in the culture of the people. It is ignoring these dictums and being fanatical about ‘fast food’ in chain stores that has caused health problems particularly affecting the skin. Next in importance are cosmetics. Cosmetics or makeup helps to better your looks. The cosmetic industry has been thriving since ancient days as Mankind has always tried to go a cut above Nature to show off in many ways – paint on the face, feathers on the head or tattoo and piercing. Switch on the net and just see the mindboggling array of lipsticks, polishes, deodorants, oil, soap and you name it. The cosmetics are laced with preservatives and fragrances. Some of these are synthetic – harmful to the skin. This has caused many to turn organic based cosmetics like argan oil , vitamin E oil, Moroccan oil and the like.
