Engineers
(ETSE)
Typically, scientists and engineers are expected to be
communicating with peers and supervisors both in written and
spoken form. Given the globalizing nature of these jobs, they are
expected to have functional English skills to be successful across
geographies.
Learning Labs has developed an assessment framework called
English Testing for Scientists & Engineers (ETSE). The
framework is designed to do a 360 degree assessment of the
candidates‟ functional English skills including listening, speaking
and writing skills.

How do you assess large numbers of candidates in short duration without affecting the
quality of assessment & candidate experience?
Our online tests are designed to be role-based and are scalable. We can undertake
assessment without affecting candidate experience by either hosting a recruitment event at
a college or a third-party venue. Our systems also support several ‘employer branding’
options in an automated environment.
How effective are your online tests compared to what is available from other vendors?
Learning Labs’ BestFit is unique by virtue of three essential differences
BestFit is a role-based assessment. We donot provide any general purpose
aptitude tests which donot test the candidate from a ‘job-readiness’ or from a
‘suitability to hire’ perspective.
BestFit tests are custom developed for each role for each client. In summary, we
align and partner with ‘Recruiting’ to screen and select the talent from the
available talent pool.
This is done with the team of Test content development experts, Test
administrators etc.
Candidate can login simultaneous with different test, different role.

V A Ramakrishna, CEO
Ramki holds a Chemical Engineering degree from NITK, Surathkal and is a PGDM from Indian Institute of
Management, Bangalore. Ramki has over two decades of IT industry experience. During his stint of 14
years for Sonata Software (www.sonata-software.com) he held varied positions in Sales, Marketing,
Account management and Alliance management. He also set up Sonata’s first overseas operation in the
USA and grew the East coast operations of Sonata significantly. Ramki also held sales & marketing
leadership positions in Benchmark Systems, Wipro, HCL & CMC.
Ramki believes that Assessment is an under-utilised weapon by businesses but has the potential to be a
‘game changer’ for Indian companies both large and small.
Dr. MVS Peri Sastry, Chief Scientist
Dr.Sastry did his BE in Electrical engineering from Andhra University and has a Ph.D from BITS Pilani in
Software engineering and ERP. In his distinguished career spanning over 30 years he has straddled the
practitioner’s world of the IT industry while being at CMC Ltd, Advanced Synergic systems, Mysore
Kirloskar and Bharat Electronics. Over the last ten years he has served as a Professor & HOD at various
well known institutions including XIME, Bangalore, Alliance Business school Bangalore and NIT Trichy. In
between he also taught Computer Science at the Trinidad & Tobago Institute of Technology in West
Indies. Dr. Sastry is an expert at the science and the art of assessment. He believes that the future of the
IT industry lies in quality software engineering education in Tier 2 colleges and towns.
Ms. Aparna Chandrshekar, Head – Behavioral Assessment & Talent Transformation
Ms.Aparna Chandrashekar has a MA in English Literature & Linguistics from Bangalore University -
University Gold Medalist. Aparna formerly was the Vice President HR – AXA Business Services –Leading
French Insurance MNC (http://www.axa-businessservices.co.in). She also held HR leadership positions as
Training Manager at Phoenix Global Solutions & at First Ring India. Aparna is a certified facilitator and
has run large scale assessment projects.
B G Purushotham, Head – Content Development
B G Purushotham is a Mechanical engineer from NITK Surathkal. Puru had a stint with MICO for 2 years
and later worked for NIIT for 18 years in functions such as Operations, Content development, marketing
and franchisee development. While at NIIT he worked in SE Asia and China. Puru led the bootstrapping
phase of Zensar’s BPO operations in Pune and was also President of Edurite – a division of Tutor Vista,
Bangalore. Puru is currently pursuing the Fellowship program at XLRI, Jamshedpur in HR area.

Bindu Madhav, Employer Branding Solutions
Bindu Madhav is a Mechanical engineer from NIT Durgapur and did his PGDM from IIM Bangalore. He
has been in the marketing communication and advertising industry for over 20 years. Bindu believes
that clients need a longish term orientation to brand building particularly when it comes to Talent
Acquisition and engagement.Madhav is a great believer in synthesizing tactical and strategic initiatives
into a holistic perspective

Hari Iyer
Hari is an Electrical Engineer from MS University, Baroda and a PGDM from IIM Bangalore. In his stint
with Sasken as Chief People Officer, Hari was instrumental in transforming and positioning people
function as a key business driver. Hari was closely involved with the leadership team of Sasken as the
most admired company for 3 years in a row. Hari is a sought after speaker in HR forums in India and he
has taught at some of the well known B-schools including IIM Bangalore.
Hari is now involved with a bunch of eclectic start ups in Bangalore.
B Ramaswamy
B. Ramaswamy was Vice Chairman & Managing Director of Sonata Software Ltd (www.sonata-
software.com) which is a US$ 320M Software services and consulting company. He built Sonata
Software from its inception as a division of an Indian conglomerate into an independent company and
later took it public in India. With an intricate organic growth and overseas acquisitions BR transformed
Sonata into a globally respected company. BR as he is fondly known is a Post Graduate from IIM
Ahmedabad and is a resident of Bangalore.
