PurposeIn workplaces across the country there is an assumed divide that exists today between the oldest generations and the youngest generation of employees. Generational diversity has emerged as a unique dynamic for many organizations to contend with. For the first time in business history there are now five very distinct generations attempting to coexist in the workplace. The challenge for todays leaders is, how do we get these 5 generations with very different values, communication styles and objectives to operate as one team?

What is a Generation ?A generation is “an identifiable group that shares birth years, age, location, and significant life events at critical developmental stages”. 

Members of a generation share experiences that influence their thoughts, values, behaviors, and reactions. 

Individuals bring their own personalities, influences, and particular backgrounds from their race, class, gender, region, family, religion and more.

• Hated “The Man” but eventually became him• Experienced the transition in the stability of the family
