My friends, As we kick off our planning study for our upcoming capital cam-paign, the title “Sharing is Caring” will be our rallying cry. One of the ways you can show how much you care about our parish is by sharing your feedback, insights, and ideas about our parish. We want our parish to serve you and your needs, so we need to

your feedback. We sent out a survey via Flocknote this week and we really would like you to fill it out. In a few weeks, we’ll have those surveys available for anyone else who might want to offer their feedback and input. Your in-sight will be so helpful in helping us plan for the future, so thank you for your act of Sharing is Caring! Also, we want to invite everyone to the parish Chapel dedication party on Sat-urday, October 19th. We will start the festivities right after the evening Mass, and we will have food, music, fun, fellowship, and inside look into the new Chapel. Please bring your families, chairs to sit in, and your appetite! It will be a great time for us to celebrate as a parish family! We are blessed to have the community that we do and we are blessed that God is with our parish of Sts. Martha, Mary, and Lazarus, Friends of Jesus! May God bless you, Fr. T.J. Dolce

Message from our Pastor

Todays Readings First Reading — Naaman, cleansed from his leprosy, returns gratefully to Elisha (2 Kings 5:14-17). Psalm — The Lord has revealed to the nations his saving power (Psalm 298). Second Reading — If we have died with Christ we shall also live with Christ (2 Timothy 2:8-13). Gospel — Ten lepers are healed by Jesus, but only one, a Samaritan, returns to give him thanks (Luke 17:11-19). The English translation of the Psalm Responses from Lectionary for Mass © 1969, 1981, 1997, International Commission on English in the Liturgy Corporation. All rights reserved.

Healing and Salvation      The readings today speak of healing and salvation. In Second Kings, Naaman, a commander of the army of the king of Syria, develops leprosy. He goes to a stranger, a prophet from Israel, when no one else can cure his dis-ease. Much to his surprise, after a simple bath in the river, he is cured. In Luke’s Gospel, Jesus cures ten lepers and sends them to the priest. Only one, a Samaritan, returns to thank Jesus for his cure and only he hears the words, “Your faith has saved you.” The psalm and Timothy remind us that salvation involves justice, kindness, and faithfulness and forever links us with Jesus. In a world as broken as ours, both healing and salvation are necessary. Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co.
