A 1 Day Course on 13 MARCH 2019 N22, IBD, UTM Johor course introduction In silico virtual screening approach such as molecular docking is a valuable tool to predict the binding sites as well as the molecular interaction of small molecules into binding sites, to screen vast quantity of ligands potential ligands for candidate drug as part of drug discovery process. The complex formed by the protein-ligand docking simulation can be the subject for thorough experimentation using molecular dynamic simulation technique which have been applied to investigate the stability of the complex, its selectivity and specificity. These techniques are preliminary screening that have several advantages such as time and cost effective as well as less laborious. The information gathered could be used for better natural product, drug devel- opment and protein engineering. This workshop will provide the participants with basic theory on molecular docking and molecular dynamic simulation. Participants will also learn how to run molecular docking using AutoDock 4.2 and analyse the results using open source software. • Provide the latest information on in silico virtual screening approaches. • Hands-on practical training in molecular docking, • Analyse the molecular docking results. course objectives www.ibd.utm.my INSTITUTE OF BIOPRODUCT DEVELOPMENT, UNIVERSITI TEKNOLOGI MALAYSIA enquiries Jalan Sultan Yahya Petra, 54100 Kuala Lumpur tel : +603.2615 4406 Attn : Yatie email : [email protected] 81310 UTM Johor Bahru, Johor tel : +607.553 1559 Attn : Asmafarhana email : [email protected] course content • Bioinformatics; Trends, challenges and future directions • Principle of Molecular Docking Simulations. • Hands-on session MOLECULAR DOCKING TECHNIQUE IN VIRTUAL SCREENING ANALYSIS OF BIOACTIVE INGREDIENTS Institute of Bioproduct Development
