The annual meeting of the ESTRO is structured with three parallel teaching sessions and symposia on specific topics covering clinical radiotherapy, biology, physics and experimental radiotherapy in the mornings.

Clinical: Occurrence and prevention of side effects of

treatment for Hodgkin’s disease Thyroid cancer Prostate cancer Combination radiotherapy and surgery

Physics: Portal imaging Optimization of external beam therapy Targetting of radiolabeled compounds External beam dose calculations

Biology: Volume effects Fundamental mechanisms underlying cell killing the a//I ratio Hyperthermia as an adjunct to radiotherapy and chemotherapy The time factor in radiobiology

In the afternoon proffered paper sessions are scheduled. Abstracts are invited for all topics related to radiation oncology. They should be submitted on the standardized abstract form. The meeting will take place in the “Centro Congress? of Montecatini Terme, the resort area of Montecatini (located between Firenze and Pisa) in beautiful Toscana, Italy.
