Starting with the Class of 2021 and Beyond- students will only have TWO pathways to meet the high school graduation requirements:

1st Pathway PASS the PARCC Algebra I (750) and ELA Grade 10 (750) Assessments

● Take & Pass PARCC ELA Grade 10 Take & Pass PARCC Algebra 1

● 20 minute period on Thursday – Each teacher will have 7-10 students where they….

1. Review transcripts and discuss grades & academic progress

2.  Review/discuss different topics relating to the monthly character education pillars

3. Access Naviance (Naviance.com) college/scholarship search

● Teachers will have the flexibility to create and tailor advisory to fit the needs of their individual groups (discussions, activities, role plays, games, etc…)

SERVICES (I&RS)I&RS IS A TEAM MADE UP OF TEACHERS, GUIDANCE COUNSELORS AND OTHER STAFF MEMBERS. THE TEAM MEETS TO DEVELOP STRATEGIES TO HELP YOUR CHILD IMPROVE THEIR LEARNING AND/OR BEHAVIOR.  

THIS PLAN IS SHARED WITH YOUR CHILD’S TEACHERS, WHO WILL IMPLEMENT AND RECORD HIS OR HER PROGRESS.  YOU WILL BE INVITED TO PARTICIPATE IN  ALL STAGES OF THE PROCESS.

504 PLANA STUDENT IS ENTITLED TO A 504 PLAN IF THEY HAVE A PHYSICAL OR MENTAL HEALTH DISABILITY THAT LIMITS ONE OR MORE MAJOR LIFE FUNCTIONS. THESE INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, ADHD, DEPRESSION, DIABETES, AND HEARING LOSS.

THE 504 PLAN INCLUDE ACCOMMODATIONS THAT ASSIST THE STUDENT IN SCHOOL. FOR EXAMPLE, STUDENT MAY NEED EXTRA TIME ON TESTS.

Math DepartmentPARCC sample question

Parcc released questions are solved in Math classes so that students can get familiar with the PARCC style questions as well as the language. This way they will not get discouraged or intimidated by the test when they take it. Also Freshmen are given an extra math class which is called Assessment Prep to prepare them for PARCC Algebra I in which they need a passing score in order to graduate high school.

● Khanacademy.org- is a great online website resource for students to watch Math videos on many topics.

● IXL.com - is a program that will be implemented in all math classes which provides grade level math skills practice to students. It also lets teacher to track student progress as well as their weaknesses and strengths.

● Desmos.com - is an online graphing tool that can be used for homework help or when students need to do graphing at home without a physical calculator.

● Pearsonrealize.com - All students will be given access to the online textbook in their math classes. This is a great resource students should utilize to revisit information and review examples on lessons.

charge their iPads for the next day.5. Have them use a planner or google calendar to track and know what

tests, quizzes, projects are coming up as well as school events.6. Check SIS regularly to check grades, and communicate with their
