St. Louis Scott Gallagher – Missouri Girls
99/00 (U15) Age Group Structure and Placement for
2014-2015
To Build the Best Club in the Country. A club that positively impacts the development of our players on and off the field
and positively impacts our community.
~ SLSG Club Mission I hope this document finds all of you having enjoyed your soccer experience this past season with SLSG. As a club, we feel very good about the progress this age group made over the year and we look forward to working with all of you to see continued progress in your daughters. I want to personally thank all of you for your commitment to SLSG. The Board and the entire SLSG Staff believe in our direction as an organization and realize that we will never be able to provide a positive experience without our members. We are quickly approaching the beginning of our seventh year as a Club, and we intend to continue working hard to give you the best experience possible. We want each and every player to feel a part of our mission, enjoy playing the game while making life - long memories, and learn values that will be useful to them for many years to come. I hope that the changes you’ve seen in our Facilities, Staff, Communication, and Training Curriculum reflect a commitment to providing a unique education to the player. An education that instills values, discipline, enjoyment, and skill. Teaching the values we believe in through the challenges that the game provides is a passion the Staff shares and we will continue to refine on a daily basis. The purpose of this note is to keep transparent; the club philosophy regarding the player Placement Process, the process by which age groups are formed, and who will lead each team from a coaching perspective. Working through the transition from one year to another is always difficult, this year is no exception. The MO Girls Staff has worked extremely hard to find the right fit for each child and we feel that the players are in position to experience a positive year in 2014/15. I can’t emphasize enough how much we all appreciate your support of the SLSG community. And I speak for the entire Staff when I say we look forward to continuing to work with your family in upcoming season. Sincerely, Scott McDoniel
Prior to announcing the age group teams, coaches, and compe3ton please allow me to remind all members of the Club that each year around this Placement Process, coined ID2013. The Placement Process, by defini3on, is the process by which the club “realigns” teams within the club and places players from outside the club, each year. This process usually becomes very in-‐depth at the U10 going to U11age group when the Club introduces the Elite, Premier, & Classic Layers. The Club, however, will implement this philosophy of “like players playing with like players”, regardless of age. And since the dynamics of each age group differ, the steps by which the club will align teams varies. And, as always, the movement of players will be a coopera3ve effort between Staff, Individual Team Coaches, Club Trainers, & Parents. Division Leaders have been in the process of observing games within their respec3ve age groups to iden3fy players that may not be playing in the right team for their ability. To truly make this a coopera3ve effort the Staff will also rely heavily upon the recommenda3ons of Individual Team Coaches who feel they have a player/s who have been performing at a “different level” than the core of their teammates.
SLSG MO – GIRLS The Placement Process It is at this time each year that SLSG MO – Girls officially finishes its Placement Process, coined ID2014. The Placement Process, by definition, is the process by which the club “realigns” teams within and places players from outside the club, each year. This process usually becomes very in-depth at the U10 going to U11age group when the Club introduces the Elite, Premier, & Classic Layers, but every age presents new challenges each year. The Club uses the philosophy of “like players playing with like players”, regardless of age to determine where a player should be placed. Since the dynamics of each age group differ, the steps by which the club will align teams varies. And, as always, the movement of players will be a cooperative effort between Staff, Individual Team Coaches, Club Trainers, & Parents. Division Leaders have observed games within their respective age groups to identify players that may not be playing in the right team for their ability. To truly make this a cooperative effort the Staff will rely heavily upon the recommendations of Individual Team Coaches who feel they have a player/s who have been performing at a “different level” than the core of their teammates. This year the process for the 99/00 age group went a little smoother than in previous years. This was impart due to all the work put into placing the players on the correct teams last year. As with every year there will be some changes and this can be seen on the rosters below. SLSG realizes that the Placement Process can sometimes create tension within families, teams, and age groups. It is not the intention of the Club to continuously change the make up of each individual team and possibly add stress to our members lives. But it’s important to us that we take in to account numerous factors to make sure players are placed in the correct team. Finally, I want to thank all the coaches for their honest evaluation of players and the additional work put forth in creating the rosters over the past 3-4 weeks with kick-arounds, try-outs, and IPK’s. It was great to see all the coaches working together, discussing players and truly creating what I believe one of the strongest age groups with in the SLSG organization. We appreciate your trust in our “way” of providing the best structure for a player and the process that they follow from year to year. Without the support of our members the mission that SLSG strives to achieve each day can never be realized.

The Next Steps Now that your daughter is on an SLSG team for the up coming 2014-15 season, I would like to ensure that you are up to speed with all the communication from the club and from your team. If you have yet to receive information regarding the details below please reach out to your team manager and or your coach. 1. All players should have already received information from the club regarding how to register your daughter. If
you have not please go to the club website www.slsgsoccer.com and click the box on the right hand side “Player Registration”.
Once you have registered your daughter, she will automatically be added in to the club communication software
‘teammania’ and therefore you will be included on all club and team communication 2. You should have received an email regarding uniforms. This is a New two year cycle for ALL players to order
uniforms. If you have yet received an email on this process please reach out to your team manage and or coach. The team has to be entered into the system through ‘Soccer Master’. Once a player and team has been added into the system, the player will automatically receive and email from soccer master directing them on how to order and what uniforms to order.
Thanks again and welcome to St. Louis Scott Gallagher
