THE 5 MAIN PARTS OF FINAL CUT EXPRESS This is the browser window or the “BIN”. It is where all of your video footage and audio clips are stored ready for you to use. This in the timeline in Final Cut Express. It shows you what happens throughout your video project and is the main area in which you would use tools to edit your clips. The clips on the timeline is what makes up your final video which can be played in the Canvas Window. This is the Canvas window. This is where you can preview your project so far which has been edited in the timeline. The button in the bottom right corner of the Canvas window are used to insert keyframes on selected clips. This is the preview window. You can preview selected clips from the BIN before you add them to the timeline. You can also add IN and OUT points of the clip by pressing “I” for the IN point and “O” for the OUT point. This is the Toolbar in Final Cut Express. Here you can find tools to edit your clips in the timeline. An example of a tool is the blade tool that is used to split and separate clips in the timeline. The hotkey is “B”.
