Disaster Preparedness & Response

Volunteer Connection Grainger is the National Launch Sponsor of the new online volunteer management

system aimed to increase volunteer capacity and engagement. Since March of 2013, the site has captured more than 200,000 new Red Cross volunteer applications.

Disaster Preparedness Grainger is also a member of the American Red Cross Annual Disaster Giving

program which helps support products and resources before disasters strike. In 2014, Grainger donated more than 20,000 smoke alarms to be installed by local fire departments and Red Cross volunteers in fire prone communities across the U.S.

Supporting Safety Professionals

The Grainger Tools for Tomorrow® scholarship program awards financial assistance for tuition and books to students earning an associate’s degree in the skilled trades or public safety fields.

More than 100 community colleges participate in the program.

Participating colleges receive two, $2,000 scholarships.

One-half of the scholarships are earmarked for military veteran students in recognition of their service to our country.
