Hardware Enhanced Data Plug-In (1/2)
4 x Electrical Gigabits Ethernet ports
Each port is capable to interface 10/100/1000 Mbps link partners.
Each port can be enabled or disabled
Auto-negotiation
MDI/MDIX crossover (no need to differentiate the cable as straight or cross-over)
Flow Control
Full Duplex Flow Control 802.3x (Pause frame)
Asynchronous mode. The Pause frame are generated only by the AWY to thesource at the 4RJ45 side

Hardware Enhanced Data Plug-In (2/2)
Full flexibility E1 vs Ethernet
From 0 to 64Mbps per 2Mbps
Maximum Frame size
1536 Bytes
Maximum burst packets
Up to 100ms (up to 6,4Mb)

Ethernet Switch Features (1/3)
MAC SwitchingFrame transmitted to the port according to address resolution table
Frame transmitted to all ports if address no present in address resolutiontable (flooding)
MAC LearningWrite the information in address resolution table according to MACaddresses learned from frame received on each port
Up to 4096 entries in the address resolution table
MAC AgeingRemove learned addresses from the address resolution table after 300seconds

Ethernet Switch Features (2/3)
Four transmit queues per port
Frames are assigned to each queue according to their priorityAlgorithm DWRR (Deficit Weighted Round Robin) is used to schedule eachtransmit queue
DWRR configuration : by default, weight respectively of 8, 4, 2, 1 for thefour queues on each port
With a static configuration file it is possible to configure also the fourqueues weight
QoS Policy
Configuration by craft terminal of the QoS type (802.1p or Diffserv)
802.1p QoS (3 bits of priority field defined in the 802.1p frame)
Diffserv (6 bits of priority DSCP field defined in IP frame RFC2474)
Mapping of the priority vs transmit queue done by static file

Ethernet Switch Features (3/3)
Ethernet counter available in the MIB (Access by Craft terminal)
Total number of good packets transmittedTotal number of good bytes transmitted
Total number of regular packets received by this port
Total number of bytes in all good regular packets received by this port
Total number of packets received and dropped due to lack of resourcesTotal number of packets received with a bad FCS
Autoport shutdown
The Ethernet port is shutdown when radiolink is not working properly

WIMAX Backhauling Solution
Why AWY release 2.1 fits to the WIMAX solution
AWY 2.1 can carry up to 64Mbps bit rateAWY 2.1 supports 10, 100 and 1000 Mbps link partners
AWY 2.1 has got 4 Ethernet ports in a level 2 switch Can aggregate 3 sectors in a terminal station
Can aggregate 3 sectors + another link in a nodal station
AWY 2.1 supports QoS then is ready for the future WIMAX enhancement802.1q in Ethernet network
Diffserve in IP network
AWY 2.1 can currently carry VLAN tagged frames and is ready to manageVLAN in future release.
