I read the story about documenting 24 hours in Lawrence and got my camera out of my purse. I often think the general public does not know all we do here at Bert Nash Center.

I have the opportunity to work with individuals with many different types of mental health issues such as depression, anxiety; work/ relationship challenges etc.

May 10, 2007Lawrence, KansasI walked to the phone room where Carole Lash took a moment to smile while she answered a call. Carole usually handles hundreds of calls a day.

May 10, 2007Lawrence, KansasI walked past Office Manager - Marsha Smith at her desk listening to voicemails. Bert Nash is open almost every evening for appointments and Marsha makes sure that there is support staff available during those times.

May 10, 2007Lawrence, KansasI stopped at the front reception desk where Linda Lash and Margie Miller answer phones and check in clients. This front desk manages all client contacts with adult outpatient services and diverts crisis calls to our Access Center.

May 10, 2007Lawrence, KansasI walked upstairs and IT staff Paul Williams and Brad Boydston showed me the computer server for the center. Bert Nash Center is moving to an electronic medical record in the near future.
