(and more) buffet is providing the best quality food in the Inland Empire. The pizza chain was first established in 1990 here in the heart of Rancho Cucamonga as just a carry out and delivery service. The founder, Sam Kaissi, and his wife Tina named the restaurants after their first born child Dalia. With the hard work and the support of the local com-munity the chain expanded its services to cover most of the I.E. such as: Azu-sa, Covina, Upland, Alta Loma, Ontario, Corona, and Moreno Valley. Some loca-tions provide the dine-in and others are committed to the great service of carry out and delivery.

Dalia’s Pizza in Rancho Cucamonga had expanded to offer this giant facility to meet with the 21st century demands. The owner, Sam Kaissi and his fami-ly along with their architect decided to purchase the one acre lot on the north-west corner of Baseline and Archibald. The building had to endure a complete

remodeling to enhance the interior and the exterior and to accommodate near-ly 200 guests. The remodeling included: brand new kitchen equipment, plumb-ing, dining room, conference/party room (seats close to 50 people), modern buffet counters, and elegant restrooms. The exterior was designed by renowned landscapers that provided green and colorful landscape which beautified our city.

The customers were more than pleased with the variety of food and courteous customer service that was offered in this location. The Grand opening was in May and many people were invited to this immense event. With the help of many city officials, business owners, and families, the red ribbon opening was a great success. Many prizes were handed out, including a 2013 Chevy Spark that was won by a lucky customer. The event was promoted by the Radio Station 99.1 KGGI and hosted by the radio celebrity, Dianna Wehbe and cast.

This location provides a variety of dai-ly delicious and fresh food items on the buffet. The manager, chefs, and employ-ees are committed to providing the best healthiest choices of recipes to meet with everyone’s taste. Freshly made gourmet and custom baked pizzas are offered at all times along with the endless salad bar. Lasagna, linguini, stuffed shells, roasted vegetables, garlic bread sticks, baked ziti, bruschetta, cannaloni, caprese sal-ad, eggplant parmesan, and not to men-tion their endless hot and spicy chicken wings are constantly available . Deserts include: chocolate covered strawberries, cannolis, cupcakes and brownies…to name a few. The old location was merged to the newer building which means this location also offers pickup and delivery services.

Off the road of Route 66 and north on Campus Avenue in Upland, just be-fore the 210 freeway, sits The Heights; a quaint restaurant tucked away in the Up-land Colonies Crossroads. This restau-rant opened in June of 2010 and has had great revues on yelp. Known for great quality service, as well as the sophistica-tion of the bar drinks and food, its Amer-ican fare with multi-cultural influence was inspired and designed by the head chef Cliff Coglietti, along with family and friends. My wife and I were served three drinks; a Blue Berry Lemon Drop, Dale Bros. Pomona Queen Beer, as well as an amazing non-alcoholic strawberry lemonade which are the most requested drinks with good reason. All were great compliments to our lunch and made our meal more enjoyable. Our lunch started off with an amazing appetizer: Ahi tuna cocktail, a Southwestern Salad, then a Western Cheeseburger and a steak fillet with vegetables.

Each plate served reflected inspiration

in flavor and concept from a melting pot of cultures onto an Americana fare. Per-sonally, the Ahi tuna blew up my taste buds in the best way, wishing it would have been a meal rather than an appetiz-er; well-conceived and left me wanting more. The Southwestern Salad served was great in portion and in flavor on its own, but with the chipotle dressing, (prepared in-house) took the salad to another level. Most, if not all, dressings and sauces are produced in the kitchen which not many restaurants can say the same. The Western Cheeseburger is no fast-food burger. The half-pound patty is hand-formed and cooked to a desired temperature which is typically medium rare and stacked high with whole (not shredded) lettuce, cheddar cheese, large slice of tomato, fried onion ring, deli-cious BBQ sauce and mouth-watering apple smoked bacon. This is my ideal burger served with great crispy seasoned fries. The Heights isn’t really known for their steaks, but should be put on the

map along with other steak houses, be-cause they do steaks right! This restau-rant has the ability and knowledge to cook great steaks in any temperature and should be known for the quality steaks they serve. We had the fillet in medium rare topped with blue cheese butter and braised onions along with some fresh cooked vegetables. I’m not the biggest fan of blue cheese, but the way they con-ceived this meal was on another level and changed my view and opinion. It was an amazing compliment to the steak filet and, until the end, I didn’t realize that I didn’t have to use a drop of steak sauce. It has so much that it left my taste buds daydreaming about the next bite.

The Heights did what its name prom-ised and took our flavor and perception to new “Heights.” Come check out this gem tucked away in North Upland. It’s very family-friendly and has a section separated from the bar perfect for a fam-ily meal or a more personal meal with a friend or loved one.
