ABOUT SIMO EDUCATION

SIMO Education is founded in 2007 by deeply passionate IIT and IIM Alumni, working for promotion of basic sciences and education in India and South-East Asia. SIMO Education Olympiads is our initiative to brain storm students and improve their cognitive skills.

In addition to conducting Olympiads, our activities include teacher training, publication of top notch Olympiad and school education content, creating e-learning content, services to schools and private companies in education domain on high end, original and custom content development.

Over the past ten years we served more than a million students and over 2800 schools. Our core team contains Olympiad Awardees and IITians. Through eight successful Olympiads till date, we have identified and nurtured hundreds of toppers at various International Olympiads and other national competitive exams.

ABOUT SHAASTRA, IIT MADRAS

SHAASTRA is the annual technical festival of Indian Institute of Technology Madras,(IIT Madras), Chennai, India and the first ISO certified festival of its kind. It is a 4 day festival usually held in January every year. Since 1999 it has been a confulence of students. academia and industry and the biggest platform in south India to showcase the passion for technology.

SIMO Education is glad to be associated with SHAASTRA 2016, IIT Madras as partners for 9th SIMO Education Olympiads 2015-16.

Seeing our credibility, SHAASTRA believes in the standards of our Olympiads and are willing to invite the toppers of this year Olympiads to SHAASTRA 2016 which will be held at IIT Madras in January 2016. We feel it is a great opportunity for the students to get their morals boosted with the exhibitions, events, guest lectures from eminent personalities and nail biting competitions by SHAASTRA.

Rs. 125 (Rupees One Hundred and Twenty Five Only) is to be collected for each candidate and for each Olympiad. An amount of Rs. 10 per candidate can be retained by schools to meet contingencies like dispatch of OMR sheets, invigilation, obtaining Demand Draft and other miscellaneous expenses. No other expenses would be entertained by SIMO Education. The rest of the amount Rs. 115 per candidate is to be paid to SIMO Education by way of Demand Draft or online payment at our website during online application. No other mode of payment is accepted by us. SIMO Education is not responsible for cash transactions with individuals or any other representatives. Please note that we do not have any Coordinators or Agents for this purpose.

Student should be in top 8 - 10 % among all the participants that took the Olympiad, based on the relative performance and cut-off marks OR he/she should be in top 4% of the participants from his school (school quota).

For example, if the school had 50 students for the Olympiad (across all classes and Olympiads), a minimum of 2 students (4% of 50) will be selected for Stage-II. Usually, the 4% students will be selected based on the nearness to 8 - 10% merit cutoff.

The decision of SIMO Education shall be final in all matters pertaining to number of selections for Level II (Final Test).

All the students who attended any of the Olympiads will get a ‘Certificate of Merit and Participation’ in association with Shaastra 2016, IIT Madras indicating the level of the performance of the student in the Screening Test.

The venue of all One Level tests and Level 1 (Screening Test) of SIMO, SIPHO and SICHO would be the participating school, subject to a minimum participation of 50 students across all classes and all Olympiads from the school. If the number of participants falls short of 50, SIMO Education may provide nearest center as Test center. The duly filled in OMR Sheets must reach SIMO Education within 3 working days. The venue for the Level 2 test of SIMO, SIPHO and SICHO will be decided by SIMO Education based on the nearest available center and the decision shall be final.
