Aryans Group joined hands with 9 renowned NGOs of the tricity on the occasion in a Programme held today at PHD Chamber, Sec 31, Chd. The group allotted 1 seat each to 9 NGOs under 100% scholarship. Smt. Poonam Sharma, Mayor, Chandigarh was the Chief Guest on the occasion while Dr Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group presided over the function. The office bearers of various NGOs namely Mrs Neena Singh (Bharat Prakarsh Foundation), Mr. Jai Kumar (JK Study Center), Ms Ritu (Sunehra Aaj), Ms. Sakshi Khanna (Tamanna), Mrs. Sangita Vardhan (Vatsal Chaya), Ms. Komal (Yuvsatta), Ms Gunjan (Humari Kaksha), Don Bosco Navjeevan Society and Theatre Age also shared their views on the occasion. Mr. JN Vohra, Advisor, Aryans Group was the moderator of the event. The function commenced with the lamp lighting ceremony by Prof D.C Kataria “Roshaan” and Mrs Rajni Kataria, Founder, Aryans Group. Smt. Poonam Sharma, Mayor, Chandigarh while appreciating the noble step towards hapless students said, “I am pleased to know that Aryans has been celebrating the Birthday of its Founder Mrs Rajni Kataria as its foundation Day.” She further said that nothing is big than sharing success and happiness with the poor sections of the society. The efforts will help to remove educational backwardness from poor strata of society where higher technical educational is scarce. Dr Anshu Kataria while speaking on the occasion said that Aryans is the only campus near Chandigarh where more than 1000 students of total 2500 are persuing their higher education under various scholarship schemes. These students are doing well in academics, sports, cultural, innovations etc. Dr. Parveen Kataria, Director General, Aryans Group said that education is the best tool for the region's development. Every year a large number of students seek higher technical education outside the region. However, poor parents cannot send their children outside, even if they are talented,” he said. Two students namely Mr. Jagdeep of Bharat Prakarsh Foundation and Mr. Amit of Vatsal Chaya who are already studying Diploma and BCA respectively at Aryans Campus were also present on the occasion. While sharing their views they said, “Being financially week we were not able to continue with our studies but last year we were allotted scholarship seats at the same platform”. “We are now motivated, guided by the staff and management and want to help other week students for this cause” they added. Prof. B.S Sidhu, Registrar, Aryans Group while congratulating students, Staff and management on the occasion said that in last 8 years Aryans students has emerged successfully not only in Academics but also in innovations, cultural, sports, placements etc. In academics Aryans students have secured top positions in PTU Merit list and have done wonders in innovations too. It is to be mentioned that Aryans celebrates Birthday of its founder Mrs Rajni Kataria as its Foundation day every year. On the occasion 9 team members of Aryans designated as “Navratan” were also honoured. Mohali 2 July Aryans Group of Colleges, Chandigarh laid the foundation stone of its 9th Building block in a Bhoomi Poojan ceremony held today. The new block will be constructed on Aryans Campus, situated at Vill. Nepra-Thuha, Banur, Chandigarh-Patiala Highway, Near Chandigarh. It will be constructed as a Girls Hostel to facilitate accommodation to the girl students and female staff. Prof. D.C. Kataria (Roshaan) & Mrs. Rajni Kataria, Founders, Aryans Group laid the foundation stone. Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group of Colleges speaking on the occasion said that the girls hostel would be constructed in 20,000 sq. ft. area facilitating accommodation for about 250 girls. It will be provided with quality infrastructural basic amenities to the students with a view to provide them congenial atmosphere to follow their academic pursuits. Kataria further added that Aryans was started in the year 2007 with only one Business School and one block of buildings. In the last 8 years it has started 7 colleges and is having around 2500 students in various streams. He added that the construction of the new block will be completed in the next 6 months. Mohali 6th September For giving Practical exposure to the students, Aryans Group of Colleges, Chandigarh organized visits to 3 different Industries for its Engineering, Management and BCA students. The students spent the fruitful hours with the executives of the Industries. The Industries for visit were chosen according to the branches and specializations of the courses of the students. Prof. A P Jain, Director, Aryans Group of Colleges while giving more information said that Mechanical students were taken to Swaraj Division Mahindra & M a h i n d r a L t d . , M o h a l i ; Management students were taken to Verka Milk Plant, Mohali and students of Computer Applications (BCA) were taken to

Piford Technologies, Mohali.Prof B S Sidhu, Registrar, Aryans Group said that main work in Swaraj division is the assembly of different parts of tractor, so s tudents got a very good exposure by visiting this division. He added that the students were given in depth insight of Machine Shop, Heat Treatment Shop, Hydraulic & Pneumatic Unit, Small Scale Assembly, Large Scale Assembly, Paint Shop and Final Inspection unit. Ms Divyapreet Kaur, HOD, Aryans Group said that during the visit at Piford Technologies, students learnt the working process of the company. They were shown various areas and Concepts in the Industry like their Training unit, Live projects etc. The students were also provided

a Seminar based on “Android Application & Microcontroller”.While giving details of visit to Verka Plant she further said that the students got chance to visit the units where various milk based products like Curd, Butter, Kheer, Lassi etc are being produced at Verka.Prof. Jain further said that this type of industrial visit is very beneficial for students from which they get to learn about many things. Such events should occur in every organization because these types of events enhance the basic knowledge of the students which helps in their future life. He further added that we are aiming to have these types of events in future also.

JK students of Aryans College of Engineering applauded by the Governor Punjab for “Aryans Safety Helmet”

Srinagar 13 June5 engineering students of Chandigarh based Aryans College of Engineering have developed a unique GPS and GSM based Safety Helmet. This innovative project of the Aryans Kashmiri students aims to provide timely first aid faci l i ty in case disaster happens at construction/ mining/ industrial sites. Christened as "Aryans Safety Helmet," the project was today launched by Governor Punjab & Haryana, Sh. Kaptan Singh Solanki in Raj Bhavan, Haryana. Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group presided over the event. Sh. Solanki while launching the helmet said that we lose t h o u s a n d s o f l i v e s a t construction sites due to their untraceable location. This helmet will really help us to locate them at a much faster s p e e d . S h . S o l a n k i appreciated the initiative taken by Aryans students and added that this Helmet is an i n n o v a t i o n a n d a l s o a

wonderful project.Mr. Himanshu, HoD, Civil Department, Aryans Group said that this unique helmet consists of three main Parts i .e . GPS sys tem, GSM module and Antenna. Firstly GPS system will receive signals from satellite through an antenna attached to it. The information retrieved from these signals is fed to GSM module. GSM module has a sim card slot which wil l transfer this information to the system. He added that use of particular web link enables us to locate the position of that system on a google map.I m t i y a z A h m a d S h a h , students' group leader said that “According to recent survey we lose approximately 1000 lives per year while working at their jobs and one out of every five of them is at construction sites. Most of these deaths occur due to non-availability of first aid in time. So this helmet will help us to find the persons under debris and to provide help as early as possible.

H a n a n B a s h i r a n o t h e r s tudent who hai ls f rom Srinagar said that this helmet will help us to locate persons under debris or scrap in case of an accident. GPS will work with satellite and transfer information to GSM. We can locate position on google map by using a link.Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group said that with the fast change in technology, students are coming up with fresh and innovative ideas. Earlier to this also Aryans students have done many wonderful innovations like “Aryans Android App”, “Save Kashmir Android App”, “Life saving Glove” to name a few.Giving more information Sajid Zahoor, Javaid Ahmad and Suhail Ahmad said that they a re work ing on fu r ther improvement of the device by installing a sensor based emergency but ton. The button will turn to an alarm in case the person requires first aid by sensing the pressure or other emergency need.

Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema, Education Miniser, Punjab was the Chief Guest on the occasion; Dr. Tejinder Kaur Dhaliwal, Chairman, Punjab School Education Board (PSEB);Sh. T.K. Goel, Director Public Instructions, Colleges and Sh. W h i l e l a u n c h i n g t h e scholarship scheme Dr. Anshu Kataria said that though there are many centre and state sponsored scholarship schemes but amount given under these is not enough to cover entire education. Considering the same Aryans has decided to extend helping hands to Tribal Students. A s p e r t h e A r y a n s Scholarship scheme 100 meritorious students will be selected from tribal areas in which 35% of the scholarship

will be paid by Aryans Group, other 50% part will be paid by the State Government and the remaining 15% part will be borne by the students. Toll free scholarship helpline i.e.1800-30000-388 was also launched for tribal students. Shri O.P. Kohli, Governor Gujarat speaking on the occasion said that Gujarat Government has set up 95 Science Stream higher secondary schools in tribal regions, ITIs, Engineering, Nursing and Agriculture colleges in every talukas.

Sh. Kohli further added that a p a r t f r o m Te c h n i c a l Education others sectors should also be touched including health sector, Ma lnut r i t ion shou ld be erected, vocational courses should be added to make the people self reliant, tribals s h o u l d b e i n v o l v e d i n administration so they can feel the need of common man and agriculture sector should be strengthened to generate more employment opportunities.

Sh. Madan Mohan Mittal, Punjab Technical Education Minister, said that Punjab has emerged as destination for Tribal students of India. Punjab has 360 Under Graduate, 75 Post Graduate, 102 engineering and 193 Polytechnic Colleges. He added Punjab has better i n f r a s t r u c t u r e a n d employment opportunity. He appreciated the efforts done by Aryans to become the preferred destination for Tribal students for Technical and Higher education. On the other hand the Tribal S tuden t s Assoc ia t i ons highlighted few problems faced by them in the region. They said that keeping in view the high standards of Education provided by the Institutes and cost of living in the region the amount of scholarship should be hiked and it should be paid well in time to continue their studies uninterrupted. They also said that stringent rules should be made to prevent racia l incidents in the Country.

has been produced by M u k e s h S h a r m a a n d Khushwant Gill. Director of the film is Raj Sinha who was the creative director of the same production house's last hit film 'Jatt James Bond'.

It is to be mentioned that Aryans has achieved several milestones in the field of placements last year. He added that last year about 300 companies had visited the job fest and this year more than 500 companies are expected to visit the campus during job fest. The group has seen 100 per cent placement of its students and now the group is trying to get students of other colleges placed with well-known companies.The one day fest witness participation from leading companies and students from all over the North India. The

fair give an opportunity to final year students and fresh graduates from all streams to a c c e s s c a r e e r o p t i o n s available in various leading organizations under one roof. The students also get an opportunity to evaluate if their existing skill sets match up to the industry requirements.The fests witnessed job seekers from the twin cities as well as other parts of the Country. Of the total number of participants, 60% of the jobseekers were at the fresher level, 25% at mid management and 10% at senior level. It was a multi-

i n d u s t r y j o b f e s t , w i t h participating companies from IT, ITES, Education, Medical and Manufacturing among others.The group created a new h i s t o r y i n t h e fi e l d o f placements where more than 100 companies and over 2500 students from different parts of North India came to participate in 33rdAryans Job Fest at Aryans Campus. Mohali 30 August Aryans Group of Colleges, Chandigarh organized a workshop on “Mind Your Mind” at its campus. Marital Counselor and Gemologist, Col. Gursewak Singh was the Key Note Speaker on the occasion. The event was attended by Engineering and management students of Aryans Group. Chairman, Aryans Group of Colleges, Dr Anshu Kataria presided over the event.

While delivering the talk Col. Gursewak Singh explained beautifully all the aspects related to “Human Mind”. He s a i d fi r s t w e h a v e t o understand thetheory of the human mind: What is human mind including Conscious and Sub-conscious mind? How it functions in conjunctions with our brain? How we can use it to enhance our personality to achieve success in life and attain peace of mind. He fu r ther added tha t physical exercise, meditation,

p l e n t y o f s l e e p a n d socialization are some steps to keep our mind healthy. He also told that Alcohol and other drugs can kill brain cells. On other hand, Caffeine creates a dependence on a chemical that can otherwise be generated naturally. A f t e r t h e l e c t u r e , a Questions/Answers round was also held. Col. Gursewak Singh made all the queries of the audience clear regarding various problems and issues related to Mind.

The purpose of the workshop was to inspire the youth to drive positive change, self-esteem and self-love. They instilled the students by saying that being the youth of the nation they should build self esteem and they should learn to love, trust thyself and the i r ab i l i t i es be fore practicing the same for others.Motivating the students they

further said that today's youth have both the potential and the responsibi l i ty to use their influence to promote harmony and progress .They just need a positive thinking which comes only after exploring spirituality, Positive energy, by recognizing all the love around our self, loving our self enough to know the best in us.Wonderful ways were also explained to practice self love few of which are: Building a precious community, by making a “What's Working for Me" list, No more comparison, doing something you're good at, exploring your spirituality etc. Initiating a good start a selfie was also clicked by all the students with a motto “fall in love with yourself first”.

Mr. Deepak Behl, Renowned motivator and psychologist was the key n o t e s p e a k e r o n t h e occasion.Mr. Behl while interacting with the students discussed var ious aspects o f l i fe including Spirituality, ways of bringing self change, how self change acts as an i n v i s i b l e d o c t o r . H e suggested students to be

those girl children whose birthdays fall in the month of January. Sweets, gifts & other eatables were also d i s t r i b u t e d . D a n c e performances presented by the children were the main attraction of the function.

Dr (Mrs) Parveen Kataria, Director General, Aryans Group of Colleges said that

Aryans Group marked the festival to spread a social message to save the girl child. She further said that it is time to put an end to girl child discrimination and give them a chance to achieve their full potential. This event will be an agent of change, in altering people's perspective when it comes to having girl children, she added.

more enthusiastic than the elders in spreading the message that Lohri for girls should also be organized, as they are equally important in the society. She further said that the function cheered everyone especially girls up.

Speaking on the occasion, the Captain of the winning team Gagandeep Singh, who is a JK student said that the efforts were put by all the team members. He added that all the players specially the bowlers played really well due to which they won the Championship. Giving details about the final match, he told that they won the toss and chose to bat first and made 357 runs. The defeating team was all out at the score of 240.

Prof. B.S. Sidhu, Registrar, Aryans Group said that such events considerably improve a n d b u i l t t h e m u t u a l relationship between faculty and students. He further said that the match was quite interesting and both the team played the match with full spirit & enthusiasm.
