Frank Mitchell

I grew up in Creston, a small town in South Carolina, where everyone

pretty much knew everyone. At birth I was almost placed in Foster Care, because the

doctors thought that my mom wasn’t mentally able to take care of a child but with

Gods favor and grace I was able to stay with my mom and grandma. We attended a

small church called Mount Zion Baptist Church in Elloree, SC about a half a mile

from where we lived. I would attend church whenever my mom and grandma would

go but I was never focused on what was said, I was more focused on what people

were saying about my mom, because we were poor and didn’t have much. In spite of

adversity, God always made a way for me to get school clothes and school supplies.

My dad wasn’t around and he really didn’t even know me, he didn’t know

when my birthday was or anything. I grew up having a void in my life that I wanted

to be filled so badly. I just couldn’t understand why a father would reject his kid and

not want to have anything to do with him. I grew very bitter throughout the years

because of that. The bitterness I had turned into hatred toward him and I had a lot of

anger inside of me. However, I made a promise to myself that I would never, ever

leave my kids or not be in their lives and have them go through the pain and confu-

sion that I had been through. Most of all for them to know that I LOVE THEM and

I’M ALWAYS HERE FOR THEM!!! When one of the most important people in my

life passed (grandma), I came to realize that life is too short to be angry and decided

to call my dad and to forgive him and to let him know that I wanted him to be in my

life. I gave him my number but he doesn’t call or anything. Through that I discov-

ered I had a father all along, my LORD and Savior! He has been there for me and

knows me better than I know myself or anyone else and if there was a void that

needed to be filled…. God filled it.

I always wanted to have my own family since I can remember. I married

and had a beautiful son name Kaden with my ex-wife. Sad to say, I was looking for

love in the wrong places and got married for the wrong reasons. I thought I had the

family I always wanted but God quickly showed me that I was wrong. The marriage

didn’t work out, that’s when I sought help from my coworker and friend (Cornelius

McCormick) and he gave me Godly counsel and gave me advice on how to try to

make my marriage work but every time I tried it got worse. One day I just had an

Amazing feeling and revelation that she wasn’t the one for me. A year later I’m hap-

pier than I’ve EVER been with my beautiful Fiancée Jameelah and our gorgeous

children Jayden, Brooklynne and Kaden. God has been there for me since the begin-

ning and has blessed me tremendously. God knew just what I needed when he gave

me Jameelah; the way she loves me, helps me and is there for me is priceless. I know

its God blessing me for everything I’ve been through and keeping my head up and

my faith in him through all the tough times. Although I am so undeserving, I am so

thankful and grateful for everything God has done for me to include blessing me

with his gorgeous Angels that are in my life and family now. I am keeping my prom-

ise I made to myself to be the best father, leader and husband I can be with God’s

help and guidance.
