Beth Webb Announces Retirement

Beth Webb has served Fairview as Church Secretary for twelve years. Beth announced that she will be retiring effective July 31. Her last day in the office will be July 18. Many in our church and in the community have been welcomed by Beth over the years. She has made many friendships in our congregation and is loved by all. We will miss her. Welcome to Fairview Baptist Church Sharing the Love of Jesus as we ‘Worship, Grow, Serve, and Go’.

Worship – We commit to seeing 300 or more in average worship attendance on Sunday mornings. Grow – We commit to Fairview attendees participating in 300 or more units of Bible study each week. Serve – We commit to Fairview attendees engaging in 150 acts of service within the congregation each week.

Go – We commit to Fairview attendees being involved in four or more mission experiences each year.

Greetings to everyone in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ! We at Fairview are so grateful that each of you are here this morning to worship our great God. We believe that coming together to worship Jesus every Sunday is the main reason we exist as His church. As you attend one of our three worship services our prayer is that you lift up your voice, your mind, and your heart to the Lord God. As we faithfully worship the Lord in Spirit and Truth, God will reveal His word and will to us. Let us praise the Lord together this morning!

SERVE & GO

VBS 2018 Wrap-Up

Many thanks to all those who have supported the VBS ministry here at Fairview, through teaching a class, leading a rotation area, working in the background, providing food for snack time, or praying for the chil-dren and families who were impacted. We had 62 children registered, and have had a wonderful week sharing the Gospel with around 55 children each day. Hopefully we’ve put everything back in order throughout the building, but if you see something we missed, please give us a hand with getting it back the way it needs to be.

Impact Virginia Trip – One week away

Please be in prayer for Alan and the two youth who will be heading to Danville, July 22-28. They

will be participating in the BGAV’s Impact Virginia camp doing “construction ministry.” We aren’t sure yet exactly what construction we’ll be doing, whether painting, or build-ing a deck, or home repairs, or something completely different, but they are looking for-ward to sharing God’s love to those in need in the Danville area. Please keep our team in your prayers as they travel and work next week.

Children’s Summer Camp Musical – August 10 7pm

Last Summer our children’s music program brought you Back to the Cross, a time-traveling musical that took our children on an adventure back to the cross of Jesus. This summer, our kids are working hard on a sister musical called Back to the Manger,

which you guessed it, contains a time machine as well as our kids are looking at what Christmas really is really all about. Come join them on August 10th at 7:00pm as they present their musical and message. You won’t want to miss it!

Youth & Children’s Ministry Training Opportunities

Group ministries, one of the larger Christian publishing groups in the US, is bringing two training opportunities to Fredericksburg this September. Youth ministry leaders, volun-teers, and parents are invited to join them on Sept. 8 for a half-day training opportuni-ty. Children’s leaders, volunteers, and fami-lies are invited for a similar half-day training event on Sept. 22. If you are willing to com-mit to going, please contact Alan to let him know so an early-bird registration can be sent in. These are great opportunities for hearing the latest trends in ministry, min-gling with parents and ministry leaders from other local churches, and spending some time together as a ministry team to focus on how to improve our ministries here at FBC.

And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of His glory

in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19
