    Call to Worship

    1. Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of

    your name; deliver us, and atone for our sins,

    for your name's sake!

    2. Let the groans of the prisoners come before you;

    according to your great power, preserve those

    doomed to die!

    3. But we your people, the sheep of your pasture,

    will give thanks to you forever; from generation

    to generation we will recount your praise.

    Hymn of Adoration

    Great Is Thy Faithfulness CP53

    1. Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father,

    There is no shadow of turning with Thee;

    Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not;

    as Thou hast been Thou forever wilt be.

    2. Summer and winter, and spring time and harvest,

    sun, moon and stars in their courses above,

    join with all nature in manifold witness to

    Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.

    3. Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth,

    Thy own dear presence to cheer and to guide;

    strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow.

    blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!

    (Refrain)

    Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness!

    Morning by morning new mercies I see;

    all I have needed Thy hand hath provided.

    Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord unto me!

    We need to hear the word of the Lord.

    We need to feel it live within our hearts.

    We need to know the plan God has for us,

    So that we can do our part.

    We need to know the love of the Lord.

    We need to learn to share it every day.

    We need to seek the path God wants for us,

    So that we can find our way.

    We are called, We are called, as disciples of Christ,

    To proclaim the wonder of His grace.

    If we live in His love and walk in His light,

    We will grow as a family of faith.

    We need to do the work of the Lord.

    We need to reach beyond these friendly walls.

    We need to take the peace God gives to us,

    And make it known to all.

    We are called, as disciples of Christ,

    To proclaim the wonder of His grace.

    If we live in His love and walk in His light,

    We will grow as a family of faith.

    Help us, Lord and those who lead us;

    keep our mission clear and true.

    Help us learn from those who teach us,

    How to place our trust in You.

    We are called, as disciples of Christ,

    18

    And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven

    and on earth has been given to me.

    19

    Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing

    them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy

    Spirit,

    OUR CHRIST-CENTRICITY---mature like Christ (Colossians 1: 28-29)

    28

    Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone

    common.

    45

    And they were selling their possessions and belongings and

    distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need.

    46

    And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking

    bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and

    generous hearts,

    47

    praising God and having favor with all the people. And the

    Lord added to their number day by day those who were being

    saved.

    (5) ( 31)

    OUR CONSUMMATION---to God be the Glory (1 Corinthians 10: 31)

    31 So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all

    to the glory of God.

    CONCLUSION : ( Joshua 24: 15)

    15

    And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the LORD, choose

    this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers

    Hymn of Dedication

    Dedication Song

    I give my all to Jesus, in spite of toil or snare; cross on my back on heaven’s way, pious and restrained. Motivated by His love,

    even thru the fiercest storm. After today’s anointment, ever

    I’ll progress.

    I give my all to Jesus, living in discipline; praying to Him in earnest, walking close to Him. God’s love is there to strengthen

    me, add to me worthiness. Seeking to glorify Him, bearing fruit

    for Him.

    I give my all to Jesus, with fellow Christians all; God’s sacred cause my calling, leading others too. Every day is a victory,

    guarding each word I say. God calls me faithful servant,

    when in heaven we meet.

    When I Survey the Wondrous Cross (HOP99)

    When I survey the wondrous cross

    On which the Prince of glory died,

    My richest gain I count but loss,

    And pour contempt on all my pride.

    Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast,

    Save in the death of Christ, my God;

    All the vain things that charm me most,

    I sacrifice them to His blood.

    See, from His head, His hands, His feet,

    Sorrow and love flow mingled down;

    Did ever such love and sorrow meet,

    Or thorns compose so rich a crown?

    Were the whole realm of nature mine,

    That were a present far too small;

    Love so amazing, so divine,

    Demands my soul, my life, my all.

    Responsive Hymn

    To Worship, Work, and Witness

    To worship, work, and witness, the Good News spread abroad,

    we magnify Thy mission, Church of the living God;

    The Father’s new creation through Jesus Christ His Son,

    The Spirit has empowered to do as Christ has done.

    Be thine thy Master’s purpose to seek and save the lost,

    to ransom those in bondage, to dare nor count the cost;

    to love and lift the lowly, to heed the prisoner’s groan,

    to take up other’s burdens and bear them as thine own.

    Be thou to Christ His body, hold fast to Christ thy Head;

    be thou Christ’s open letter by all men to be read;

    be thou Christ’s holy temple, Himself the corner stone;

    be thou Christ’s living altar whereon His love is shown.

    Head of the Church, inspire us to have in us Thy mind,

    To humbly wait Thy guidance, Thy joy in serving find.

    Bestow the Spirit’s grace-gifts to serve the common good,

    While helping each the other to love Thy brotherhood.

    2.Combined Worship Service - Induction & Holy Communion Today is the first Sunday of 2021. As we progress into the new year, we encourage all brothers and sisters to resolve in this new year to continue growing in the Word, to experience the joy of an abundant life, and to constantly remind ourselves to be a mature Christian who is pleasing to the Lord.

    3.Chinese Service EDC Meeting: The Pastoral team and all Elders and Deacons are required to attend the meeting this afternoon (Sunday, 3 January 2021) at 2.00pm sharp via Zoom.

    4.Tuesday Prayer Meeting: Our church will hold our weekly prayer meetings virtually, every Tuesday at 8pm via a WhatsApp broadcast group. The sequence is as follows: Introduction, Songs, Scripture Reading, Prayer items. We hope to have more prayer warriors join us from your individual homes!

    5.COVID-19: We ask all brothers and sisters to specially pray for Singapore and other countries during this time of need. May the Lord grant us His mercy, compassion and healing.

    6.Change in timing for Worship Services in 2021: In order to accommodate more members returning to church in view of the current government restriction of 100 people per worship service, the combined EDC had, on 4 December 2020, decided that the worship services for 2021 will be amended

    as follows: English Service worship will be brought forward to begin at 8.30am, while Chinese Service worship will only start at 11am.

    Members may register for these services as per the usual registration process. We will also be able to increase the limit of members attending the service from the current 50 to 100.

    We ask that all members take special note of this change, and to only start coming to church after 10.30am. Please DO NOT arrive before 10.30am. This is to allow sufficient time for the English Service congregation to disperse and for the church premises to be disinfected before the Chinese Service congregation attends. We seek your kind and strict compliance with the above.

    7.Shepherding Group Bible Study: There will be a combined Bible Study on the introduction to the book of Jeremiah on 10 January 9.15am-10am. Speaker: Rev Tay Hae Dar. We welcome all brothers and sisters to join in this session and to learn more about God’s Word!

    Dear Members of Glory Presbyterian Church,

    The Singapore Government announced on 26 Sept 2020 further easing of Covid-19 restrictions, allowing up to 100 attendees at all worship services from Oct 3.

    Our church’s application to allow the Chinese and English Services to worship in church has been approved. The Chinese Service is opened for worship with effect from 1 Nov 20. Nonetheless, our online broadcast of Sunday services will continue. We ask that all members inform your family and friends.

    Our church will also continue to hold our weekly prayer meetings virtually, every Tuesday at 8pm via a WhatsApp broadcast group, lasting about 30mins. This will allow each of us to join in and pray together in our respective homes. We hope to have more prayer warriors join us!

    The pastoral staff leading the prayer meeting will be sending out the WhatsApp invite link, and we encourage all members to join this group and partake in the church’s prayer ministry!

    We ask everyone to continue to keep our church in your prayers, that He will continue to guide, lead and bless us!

    For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for

    evil, to give you a future and a hope. [Jeremiah 29: 11 (ESV)]
