High level of reliable manufacturing processes
Graf has become the world's leading supplier thanks to its high-quality products. Graf has been
manufacturing innovative fl at clothings, metallic clothings for cards and roller cards, and combs for
combers since 1917.
As a system supplier, Graf's off er of services covers the entire range, from products and technical
assistance to service and service machinery. In addition, Graf supports its customers with individual
solutions for all application areas. Everything, from profi le wires and carding wires to foundation
material and end products, is manufactured at Graf’s own production facilities in Europe. Thanks
to this indepth vertical integration, the Graf group ensures comprehensive process mastery and

Roller card clothing
Clothing types, designed for the widest range of requirements, are available
for processing a variety of raw materials on roller cards. The clothing types
indicated represent a selection from our unbeatably large product range.
For new and further developments, Graf joins forces with the most
renowned manufacturers of roller cards and nonwoven customers.

5
Feed rollers, feed roller cleaning rollers and pre-opening rollers
Graf recommends the use of interlinked clothing for these rollers.
Grooved rollers can be trued off for the installation of interlinked
clothings.
Cylinders and doff ers
Graf manufactures optimized clothings for each type of fi ber.
The clothings are continuously adapted to the latest technological
knowledge. Cylinder wires used for the fi ne fi ber and recycling
area are available in special steel alloys.
Workers and stripper clothings
For processing man-made fi bers or blends of man-made fi bers
and wool, the best results are achieved with metallic card clothings.
Specially designed worker clothings with increased fi ber adhesion
are available for processing diffi cult fi bers.
Fancy rollers
Graf provides three types of fancy clothing:
• Standard fancy fi llets
• Zig-zag fancy fi llets
• Fancy sheets
The clothing number of the fancy is determined by the density
of the cylinder clothing. Standard fancy fi llets and fancy sheets
are generally used for fl exible cylinder clothings. They penetrate
the cylinder clothing.
Zig-zag fancy fi llets are used for metallic cylinder clothings;
it is only in exceptional cases that they penetrate the clothing.
The zig-zag fancy fi llet is designed to lift the fi bers in combination
with the air fl ow produced.
Transfer rollers
The transfer roller clothing must be aggressive and sturdy
to ensure correct transport of the fi bers. It is now possible to
use transport brush fi llets to clothe transport rollers for worsted
yarns. These replace the well-known Tampico fi llets that are
installed on the transport rollers, located between the breast
cylinder and Morel roller as well as between the fi rst and
second morel roller.
Morel clothing
This clothing is only used on roller cards for worsted yarn,
and only on elements with burr removers. As a result of the
variable tooth pitch, optimum distribution of the teeth can be
achieved with only one clothing.
Random rollers
Clothings on random rollers are subject to increased wear.
Therefore, Graf also manufacturers the clothings in the
special steel alloy G4 (CUTTYSHARP). With the G4 or CS
(CUTYSHARP) alloy, the lifetime of the random roller clothing
can be increased by up to 30%.
Condenser rollers
Impeccable running properties are achieved with special
shapes and specially polished surfaces.
Take-off rollers
Graf off ers optimized specifi cations with or without polished
surfaces.
Roller card clothing
All Graf card clothings are manufactured according to the ISO 9001 standard.
The following list provides an overview of the key components of the roller card.
Graf recommends using interlinked clothing:
• in the breast section of the roller card
• for safety reasons, particularly for large working widths
and for processing long and coarse man-made fi bers
Graf recommends Hipro clothing:
• on the following rollers: doff ers, workers, strippers and
condenser rollers
• for the highest performance and precision with an
exceptionally long working life in normal profi les or as
interlinked clothing

Steel alloys
Depending on the application and demands, GRAF can
supply various alloys. Diff erent steel alloys can be used
depending on the clothing type and area of application.
Surface treatment
Depending on the fi ber material, a choice of surface fi nishes is available. According to the clothing type and area of application,
a special surface treatment might be suitable.
We distinguish between:
• CS (CUTTYSHARP) for the highest demands and
lifetimes for cylinder clothing and random rollers.
• HT steel alloy with special additives. Substantially
increased lifetimes compared to conventional clothing.
Blank hardened
Treated clothing with scalefree surface.
Needle Finish NF
Electrochemical polishing and rounding of all edges on the
clothing teeth.
Polidur treatment
Improved surface fi nish achieved with electrochemical polishing.
The clothing is completely de-burred at the same time.
Smooth Finish SF
Mechanical treatment for smoothing and refi ning the clothing
surfaces. The running-in time is reduced to a minimum, therefore
a consistently high quality is ensured right from the start.

Border wires
The selection of the border wire for attaching the clothing depends on the groove width and height of the clothing.
