1. Feature Description, Integrity, Eligibility:

SITS# 32 CV

The feature is a one room prairie school. The sagging gable roof of the main body is partly covered with wood shakes. The crumbling shed roof of the entry is also covered with wood shakes. There is a yellow brick chimney at the peak near the north end of the school. The soffits are closed.

There is a wide trim board under the peak of the roof at the south end. The remainder of the siding is 6 inch lap with much of that falling away from the under planking. Corner trim is also falling away. There is a door opening on the south side of the entry, a window opening on the west side and a halfmoon window opeing on the south wall of the school room above the entry. There are three double hung, two over two, windows on both the east and west walls of the school with some framing and no glass. Because of bee hives in the yard we did not see the interior.

2 miles east of Milton ND to 123rd Ave NE, turn left and go north one mile, make a right onto 85th St NE and follow the road as it goes east and then wiggles north and again east before going north again as 124th Ave NE and going north to 86th St NE (about a mile).

5. Description of SETTING:

The school has a farm field to the immediate south and heavy woods to the west, north and east. There were also bee hives in the yard.
