Welcome to the 92nd Anniversary Season of the beautifully restored 1440-seat historic Garde Theater, the centerpiece of The Garde Arts Center, the region’s non-profit home for the performing arts and cinema. Our 2018-19 season features on the Garde mainstage a diverse mix of national tours, celebrity artists and authors, family events, opera, symphony, and more. We are especially thrilled with audience and artist feedback about our growing number of legendary and emerging singers, songwriters and musicians. For movie lovers, the Garde Cinema offers a unique “movie palace experience” with a giant screen and state-of-the-art 4k full surround digital cinema system. A new World Live Cinema Series will showcase classic contemporary performances of the world’s leading opera, dance and theater companies shot in high definition film in front of a live audience at the most celebrated grand stages throughout Europe and North America. Also this season, the Garde continues to provide a home for the region’s finest performance companies including the Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra, Eastern Connecticut Ballet, Salt Marsh Opera, Connecticut Lyric Opera, and the New London Talent Show – as well as serving over 10,000 students through the Schooltime Performance Series, Passport to Literacy, and Summer On Stage. As we look to the future, we are ever so grateful that even in the most challenging of times, our sponsors, advertisers, subscribers and Friends of the Garde – along with over 200 volunteers - continue to contribute significantly to help make the Garde the pride of the region. If you have not already done so, please consider becoming a Benefactor level Friend of the Garde with at least a $100 tax-deductible gift. Membership entitles you to a variety of benefits, including access to tickets prior to sale to the general public. See you at the Garde!
