The Fleet sailors had a good morning on the Harbour. The wind

was light and this gave the boys the opportunity to use the skills

they have been practicing in training. All 4 races were contested

by Iona and the boys consistently finished mid fleet.

In Teams Racing, our sailors continued to perform very well.

Blacks won all but one race. The White Team won all their races

and showed great communication skills when out on the water.

The Greys were very competitive and continue to improve every

week.

Congratulations to all our sailors on a great weekend of racing

and thank you again to our volunteers for their time and the

coaching they generously give our boys.

Football and Rugby Canteen Supervisors Needed

Next term we commence Rugby and Football. Sport Supporters

are looking for Supervisors from the Years 5 to 8 families for

these canteens. There are five Saturdays: April 22, April 29, May

6, May 27 and June 3. The supervisors will need to be there from

6.30am to approximately 1pm. This can be split between two

people, e.g. 6.30am – 10.00am and 10.00am – 1.00pm.

Volunteers will be there to help during this time and Ros (Rugby)

and Julie (Football) will be there to open up and will show you

what you need to do.

These canteens are an essential part of Iona Sports. If you have

any questions, please call Julie Dayton after 5pm Monday to

Friday or anytime at the weekend on 0417 921 687.

The first of the AIC championship sports saw a well prepared Iona team gain 2nd place in the Years 5 and 6 aggregate and 3rd place in the 12 Years – Open. Our Year 5 and 13 Years age groups won their divisions. With 85 swimmers representing the College, it was indeed a strong effort.
