ROPS AND CONTROLS

When you need more than just a stripped-down,

bare-bones ROPS tractor, look to an MXU Series

Maxxum model to deliver greater satisfaction with

“extra” features as standard equipment (ROPS not

available on MXU135). Because these tractors provide

maximum value in an economical package, you can

expect high performance on a daily basis. Plus, the

spacious flat-deck platform and standard foldable

ROPS make this machine very operator-friendly.

An iso-mounted platform with front clear comfort

shields helps reduce noise and vibration, along with

a full-coverage heavy-duty rubber mat. Thanks to

suspended clutch and brake pedals, it’s easy to enter

and exit the operator’s seat and clean the platform

mat. An A-pillar exhaust keeps visibility at a

maximum. Halogen headlamps and worklights

enhance after-dark productivity.

Entry is possible from either side and is enhanced

by three large, wide, non-slip steps and full-length

grab handles. The bottom step is adjustable too.

Fully adjustable for maximum comfort, the deluxe

mechanical-suspension seat features two adjustable

armrests, built-in swivel, as well as fore/aft travel,

weight and height adjustments. The tilt and

telescoping steering wheel allows you to adjust for

the perfect fit. The roomy platform lets any size

The computer-aided design parent

bore block has a contouredouter surface that increases overallblock strength as well as reducesnoise and vibrations.

Case IH approves theuse of blends of up to5 percent biodiesel (B5).

At the heart of every MXU Series tractor is an all-

new, efficient Case IH engine rated at 2200 rpm. The

MXU100 and MXU110 use a 4.5L engine, while the

MXU125 and MXU135 have a 6.7L powerplant. All are

turbocharged and air-to-air intercooled to meet strict

Tier II emissions standards.The MXU110, MXU125 and MXU135 feature elec-

tronic Engine Power Management that serves up a PTOpower boost to maintain rated horsepower to get youthrough rough terrain or dense crop. The PTO powerboost is up to 15 hp on the MXU110 and up to 25 hpon the MXU125 and MXU135.

A tilt-up hood on all models of MXU Series Maxxum tractorsallows for quick and easy access to the air cleaner, air-to-airintercooler, radiator, oil cooler and air condenser cores. TheMXU hood tilts to 45 degrees or to a full 90 degrees for fullaccess if necessary.

An indicator light on theinstrument panel lets theoperator know whenelectronic engine powerboost has been activat-ed. The indicator lightfor activation of the CESfunction is directly belowthe engine power boostindicator on the instru-ment panel.

Toggle switches forthe CES are locatedon the right handconsole and allowthe operator to pre-set two enginespeeds and choosebetween them withthe toggle of asingle switch.

Take your pick of two transmissions available

on MXU Series tractors — standard 24x24 two-speed

powershift or optional 16x16 semi-powershift

(4 speeds in 4 ranges).

Both feature a dedicated column-mounted left-hand

clutchless power shuttle for faster forward/reverse

cycle times. This provides increased productivity

especially in loader applications. The electro-

hydraulic shuttle is ergonomically located on the

steering column for greater productivity and less

operator fatigue.

The base 24x24 transmission features fully

synchronized gears and ranges with two powershifts

per gear. Switching the powershift to the low side

increases torque by 22% and reduces tractor speed

by approximately 18%.

The 16x16 transmission gives you four powershifts

in each of the four ranges. Gear selection is shown

on the right-hand console in an easy-to-read LCD

display. For convenient operation, the combination

gear/throttle lever on the right-hand console of cab

models includes the powershift up/down switch and

a range change push button.

To achieve maximum efficiency and greater pro-

ductivity with the 16x16 transmission, an Auto Shift

feature is standard on MXU110, MXU125, MXU135,

and optional on the MXU100. It automatically shifts

up or down within each range based on engine

speed and driveline load. Field and transport modes

make it easier to find the speed you need.

MXU Series tractors can reach top speeds of

19 mph (30 kph) on 2WD models and 25 mph

(40 kph) on MFD models. A creeper is available

with either transmission choice for extra-slow speed

selection as slow as 8.9 feet (2.71 m) per minute at

2200 rpm with the 24x24 transmission or 12.3 feet

(3.74 m) with the 16x16 transmission.

The rugged rear axle features a heavy-duty

wet-plate differential lock, with electro-hydraulic

engagement. The flange axle is standard while a

98-inch (2489 mm) bar axle is available as an option.

The front MFD axle is an outboard planetary

design that offers a 55-degree turn angle, 12-degree

axle oscillation and standard driveshaft shield.

Automatic MFD and differential lock engagement is

standard on cab units, optional on ROPS units.

Enjoy a smoother ride over rough terrain with the

suspended front axle. Available for MFD cab models

MXU110, MXU125 and MXU135 equipped with the

16x16 transmission, the system allows for almost 4

inches (102 mm) of travel up and down to absorb

shocks, improving ride quality. The suspension system

also enhances safety by giving you better ground

contact for improved tractive efficiency. Cab sus-

pension is available too, so you’ll really appreciate

the added comfort during a long day in the field.

The 2WD heavy-duty adjustable axle also offers

a 55-degree turn angle and 11-degree oscillation

along with an 8-bolt hub with heavy-duty spindle.

An optional wide adjustable axle is available for

specialty crop situations such as tobacco.

A dedicated left-hand power shuttle on thesteering column speeds up loader cycletimes for greater daily productivity.

Push the Auto Shift toggle switchon the right-hand console to let thetransmission automatically changegears for optimal efficiency.

Cab models equipped with the optional16x16 semi-powershift transmission enjoya combination gear/throttle lever on theright-hand console.

A flange axle is standard on all modelsand includes diff-lock with electro-hydraulic engagement.

Thanks to the use of two separate hydraulic

pumps (one for steering and lubrication, one for

hitch and remote valves), you get greater productivity

from a maximum hydraulic flow of up to 26.5 gpm

(100 lpm) at the hitch and remotes.

Two closed-center remotes are standard, with up

to four available as optional equipment. Mechanical

remotes with individual flow control are standard

on all models; optional electro-hydraulic remotes

are available on cab units equipped with the

16x16 transmission. Also standard is an oil

collection bottle and power beyond.

The three-point hitch on all MXU Series tractors

provides plenty of capacity for handling heavy

mounted implements. Cab models feature

electronic draft control, while ROPS units

use mechanical draft control. Both types

offer lower link draft sensing, as well as

adjustable turnbuckles, telescoping stabilizers

to control sway, and flexible link ends for

quicker connections.

Cab units feature a Category II/IIIN

3-point hitch, while ROPS models use

Category II. Rear remote hitch switches located on

both rear fenders are standard on all cab models

(not available on ROPS units).

An Electronic End-Of-Row Function is optional

on tractors equipped with the 16x16 transmission.

This offers one-button control of the 3-point hitch,

transmission gear selection, engine speed and

electro-hydraulic valves (if equipped).

An offset drawbar is standard equipment

on all MXU Series tractors for compatibility with

drawn implements.

Also standard on all models is 540/1000 rpm

PTO featuring a reversible shaft and soft-start

modulation protection. The engagement knob/switch is

within easy reach on the right-hand console.

Thanks to Engine Power Management on the

MXU110, MXU125 and MXU135, rated PTO

horsepower is maintained even under load with

a PTO power boost of up to 15 hp on the MXU110

and 25 hp on the MXU125 and MXU135.

high visibility roof panel and superb maneuverability

to the loader’s seat mounted joystick and dual position

cylinder mounts, this is a material handling system to

The MXU Series, with its dedicated left-hand power

shuttle, and LX156 loader, with its class leading capa-

cities, are the perfect combination to help you move

more material in less time. Whether equipped with the

standard 24x24 transmission, or the optional 16x16

transmission, every MXU tractor features a clutchless

power shuttle at your fingertips. That means simple,

efficient control of the repetitive forward to reverse

motion common to loader applications.

The programmable shuttle on the 16x16

transmission allows you to program different gear

speeds between forward and reverse. The transmission

remembers the last forward and reverse gear you

were in and automatically returns to that gear every

time you shuttle the transmission. The gear memory is

retained until the operator changes the gear/

range or cycles the power – that means one less

distraction for the operator.

Every LX156 loader now has the flexibility of

using one of two cylinder mounting positions to tailor

the loader to your needs.* The “standard” position

provides maximum lift capacity and breakout force

while the alternate “High Lift” position maximizes the

loaders available lift height. Talk to your Case IH

dealer about which mounting position makes sense

for your operation.

The MXU Series Maxxum tractor is available from

the factory equipped with a mid-mount valve and a

two or three function joystick control mounted on the

right-hand side of the seat. Combine that with up to

26.5 gpm (100 lpm) hydraulic flow, and you’ll be able

to tackle your toughest tasks in no time.

almost any task thanks to the EZ-Change Quick

Coupler for easy installation and removal of front-

mounted attachments. In addition to a bale probe,

pallet fork, cutting edge and tooth bar, the LX156 is

Automatic engine shutdown protection is available

on MXU110, MXU125, and MXU135. It offers a level
