INTRODUCTIONThank you for purchasing the VTech® Care for Me Learning Carrier™

learning toy!

Come and play with the Care for Me Learning Carrier™. Slide, press and roll the sliders, buttons and rollers and be rewarded with playful phrases, cute songs and fun sounds. You can play ball with the puppy, help comb her hair and use the bottle and bowl to feed her. Open the door to the pet carrier and put your puppy friend and all of her accessory pieces inside so you can take her with you wherever you go!

GETTING STARTED

BATTERY INSTALLATION

1. Make sure the unit is turned OFF.2. Locate the battery cover inside the pet carrier.

Use a screwdriver to loosen the screw.3. Install2new‘AAA’(LR03/AM-4)batteries

following the diagram inside the battery box.(Theuseofnewalkalinebatteriesisrecommendedformaximumperformance.)

4. Replacethebatterycoverandtightenthescrew to secure the battery cover.

BATTERY NOTICE

• Usenewalkalinebatteriesformaximumperformance.• Useonlybatteriesofthesameorequivalenttypeasrecommended.• Donotmixdifferenttypesofbatteries:alkaline,standard(carbon-

zinc)orrechargeable(Ni-Cd,Ni-MH),ornewandusedbatteries.• Donotusedamagedbatteries.• Insertbatterieswiththecorrectpolarity.• Donotshort-circuitthebatteryterminals.• Removeexhaustedbatteriesfromthetoy.• Removebatteriesduringlongperiodsofnon-use.• Donotdisposeofbatteriesinfire.• Donotchargenon-rechargeablebatteries.• Remove rechargeablebatteries from the toybeforecharging (if

removable).• Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged under adult

supervision.

PRODUCT FEATURES

1. ON/OFF/VOLUME CONTROL SWITCH To turn the unit ON, slide the ON/OFF/

VOLUME CONTROL SWITCH to the LOW VOLUME( )ortheHIGH VOLUME ( )position. To turn the unit OFF, slide the ON/OFF/VOLUME CONTROL SWITCH to the OFF( )position.

2. MODE SELECTOR SWITCH To choose a mode of play, slide the MODE

SELECTOR SWITCH to the LEARNING MODE( )orthePET CARE MODE( ).

3. AUTOMATIC SHUT-OFF To preserve battery life, the VTech® Care for Me Learning Carrier™

will automatically power-down after approximately 50 seconds without input. The unit can be turned on again by pressing any button.

Note: If the unit repeatedly powers down quickly or the red light flashes three times then powers down, we suggest changingthe batteries.

ACTIVITIES1. Slide the on/off/volume control switch

to turn the unit on. You will hear a song, a playful phrase and a sound. The lights will flash with the sounds.

2. Press the piano keys to learn numbers, colors, shapes and objects in the Learning Mode and hear playful phrases in the Pet Care Mode. The lights will flash with the sounds.

3. Spin the roller to hear a variety of fun sounds in both modes. The lights will flash with the sounds.

4. Press thepuppy button to hear playful phrases and sounds in the Learning Mode andanswersimplequestionsinthePetCareMode. The lights will flash with the sounds.

5. Slide the peek-a-boo slider to see fun surprises and hear playful phrases in both modes. The lights will flash with the sounds.

6. Slide the ABC beads to learn letters and hear fun melodies in the Learning Mode and hear a variety of fun melodies in the Pet Care Mode. The lights will flash with the sounds.

7. Open or close the pet carrier door to hear playful responses and learn opposites in both modes. The lights will flash with the sounds.

8. If there is no input to the unit after approximately 10 seconds, you will hear a phrase and a song in the Learning Mode and a phrase and short tune in the Pet Care Mode. After another 10 seconds without input, you will hear a song in both modes. If there continues to be no input for another 10 seconds, the unit will play a short tune and power down. The unit can be turned on again by pressing any button, spinningtheroller,slidingtheslideroropening/closingthedoor.

TROUBLESHOOTINGIf for some reason the unit stops working or malfunctions, pleasefollow these steps:1. Please turn the unit OFF.2. Interrupt the power supply by removing the batteries.3. Let the unit stand for a few minutes, then replace the batteries.4. Turn the unit ON. The unit should now be ready to play again.5. If the product still does not work, replace with a new set of batteries.
