The Debate course at SolBridge Academy is designed to provide studentswith the practical skills of persuasive communication in business.
About the Program
Learning Objectives
Teaching students how to communicate more persuasivelythrough simulating various business activities. Teaching students to unpack arguments and cases in abusiness setting.Developing key analytical skills to find flaws and weaknesses inthe arguments of others.Developing key critical thinking skills to construct strongarguments and persuasively present those arguments to others.

Requirements
This course is designed for professional students who have anupper-intermediate to high grasp of the English language andhave a demonstrated accuracy in reading, writing, speaking andlistening.

English Debate Basics (2 hrs)

Construct your case and sell your argument (3 hrs)
This section aims to introduce you to the coreconcepts of debate, such as argument- analysis,argument-construction and case-building.
This section aims to improve your argument-analysisskills by critically analyzing an argument and itsvarious components and understanding the mainclaim of an argument and its supporting premises.This section also teaches you how to provide effectivecounterarguments.
This section aims to improve your argument-construction and case-building by simulating real-lifework contexts where this will be applicable. Thissection also teaches persuasive speaking skills as youpresent your argument to others.
