CAYLIN HARE NAMED YPA
WINNERCaylin Hare is the Williamstown High
School Youth Performance Award winner for February. She is a senior at Williamstown High School and is the daughter of Mike Hare and Shawna Peters.
Extra Curricular Activities: I participate in choir, track, the National Honor Society, tal-ent shows and work at the Country Grill.
Community Involvement: I tutor after school for ESS and help work school events. I plan to volunteer at the animal shelter.
Class Schedule: I am enrolled in AP English, AP Calculus, Psychology and Sociology,
Anatomy, College Prep and Drama.
Favorite class or class-es and why: AP Calculus is my favorite because I like to think even though I’m not a math wizard.
Favorite teacher or teachers and why: Mrs. Cummins connects with each student and is there for everyone. She is a fan-
tastic teacher and a great role model. Mrs. Pickrell is intelligent and has taught me so much this year. She is really pre-paring me for college.
What do you do for fun/recreation: I like to run, be with my friends, cruise around, sing, ride horses and spend time with my family.
Future plans: I plan to be the first in my family to graduate college with a doctorate degree.
What has been your most meaningful experience: I helped my dad cater dinner to Dana for Christmas. It was nice to do some-thing for those who had to work instead of being able to spend time with their families.
(The Youth Performance Award recognizes students who have given their time and talents for the benefit of the community. The recipients exemplify those unselfish attitudes and ideals that should guide daily living. The award is sponsored by the Grant County News and Performance Pipe, a division of the Chevron Phillips Chemical Company, LP in Williamstown.)
