7 th Indo-Pacific Fish Conference, May 2005, Taiwan The 7 th Indo-Pacific Fish Conference will be held in Taipei, Taiwan, 15–20 May 2005, under the Chairmanship of Professor Kwang-Tsao Shao of Academia Sinica. The following symposia are planned: More symposia, workshops or forums on any advanced topic or new trend are welcome. Those interested in convening additional symposia should submit the title, content and purpose of the proposed symposium as well as the names of the speakers expected to [email protected] by 30 June 2004. Complete information, including the 2 nd Circular, is available at http://www.ipfc7.org/ Nominations are solicited for the inaugural Pieter Bleeker Award for Excellence in Indo-Pacific Ichthyology. The prize will be awarded for ‘an outstanding body of published work in Indo-Pacific ichthyology, in systematics or ecology’ to one or two living ichthyologists. The award consists of a plaque and prizes (to be announced later), and will be presented during the Farewell Banquet of the 7 th IPFC (20 May 2005). Nominations may be made by any ichthyologist, including self-nominations, and should include the nominee’s curriculum vitae, details of the nominee’s specific contributions and their impacts on ichthyology.
