Absences

It is expected that a student will be absent only in the case of illness or family emergency. When

absences occur, here are my policies: Students are responsible for picking up and immediately completing any work missed due

to absences.

Absent work will be accepted for full credit until the upcoming INB check,

though to be most useful in your studies, work should be made up as soon as

possible!

Missed exams will be given during class on the day of a student’s return.

Students must make arrangements with the teacher in order to make up a

missing quiz.

Late Work It is expected that a student will turn in all assignments on time, however, if work is LATE (not due to

absence), here are my policies: Late homework will NEVER receive “completion” points, however, if a student completes the assignment

before their next INB check, they will receive the “accuracy” points when I grade the INB. Late

homework will significantly impact a student’s grade! Try to stay current with all assignments!

A project or paper (including final drafts and any associated deadlines) will be docked 10% for each class period

it is late.

Extra Credit Extra credit opportunities will be made available by me throughout the semester. Do not ask for

extra-credit assignments if you are struggling in my class…instead, please concentrate on completing

and improving your required assignments!

Class rules Be Ready…

Arrive on time, prepared to learn, be enthusiastic, and stay on task!

Be Respectful…

Show courtesy to each other and to your teacher…help others when needed!

Be Responsible…

Complete your assignments on time, give your best effort, and be thoughtful!

Be a Rule Follower…

All school rules will be enforced within my classroom!

how to contact me I can best be reached via e-mail: [email protected] .

I check my e-mail several times a day and can quickly respond to

your concerns. I can also be reached on my voice mail at 295-3700

ext.1413.

If you need help with history at any time, PLEASE, PLEASE come see

me! I’m in my room (almost) every day at brunch and lunch. I want to

help you be the best student you can possibly be!

100 Terms – One hundred

Social Studies terms have been

selected for students to know. These

terms will be covered in class

throughout the year, but students

should begin learning these terms

immediately. Every few weeks there

will be a quiz of 10 terms chosen at

random. These quizzes do not impact

the class grade, but will be listed on

JUPITER ED so you may review the

scores.

In May there will be a final exam of all

100 terms which IS graded. This final is a

large portion of the World History grade

for 4th quarter. The more effort students

put into learning their terms, the faster

they will see improvement! Students

are expected to study their terms at

home. Making flashcards is

encouraged!

Thank you, parents, for all your help & support!!
