Vocabulary of Instruction:
External Stimulus
• A change in an organism’s surroundings that causes the organism to react.

temperature of the human body; frequently a symptom of infection.

Homeostasis• Is the self-
regulation of the internal environment of living organisms or cells.
Hunger• A natural
physiological need for food.
Internal Stimulus• A change from
within an organism, such as hunger and thirst, that causes the organism to respond.
Response• An action or change in behavior that occurs as a result of a stimulus.
Stimulus• Is any factor that triggers a response from your senses.
