Position Title: Caseworker Full-‐time Permanent Position Position Description: The Caseworker shall provide income and employment services to support
client’s efforts to secure the quickest route to employment; to manage assigned caseload in a professional, facilitating and cost effective manner. They will also assist the Social Services Manager carry out the duties in accordance with the Ontario Works Act and Regulations.
Major Responsibilities: Complete and Process applications for assistance, which includes: • Meeting with applicant for the purposes of completing all forms required to process applications and
assist in case management. • Explaining to the applicant his/her rights and responsibilities under the regulations. • Identifying and explaining to the applicant any other potential sources of income. • Making appropriate referrals to help the applicant obtain available sources of income. Deliver department program services which include: • Assessing client’s employability, job readiness and other needs. • Referring client for other appropriate services and/or benefits. • Ensuring required documentation and information is appropriately noted. • A full job description is available upon request. Qualifications: • Post-‐secondary diploma in Social Services, Social Work or a related field • Minimum 2 years of related progressive experience as a Caseworker or direct social services
delivery experience • A successful drug test result and criminal records check required as a pre-‐condition of
employment.
